Hello everyone, my names Adam and im currently looking at purchasing a R34. My Budget is from 20-25k. I have read throughout the boards on what to look for and it has given me great advice, just one issue i request feedback from.

The Car will be my hobby car, drag car, where im looking at running low 12's 1/4 mile. Looking at sinking up to 10k modifying the car.

Should i buy a stock r34 which no work done?, and start from scratch?, buy an r34 with minimal work done?(front mount, exhaust etc) or buy one thats fully worked?

The issue with these are they are all priced pretty much same.

Thankyou

As stated buying premodded is so much cheaper and easier but be wary. If the person selling the car looks sketchy and you find things like rubber plastered under the rear wheel arches you can bet the cars had a flogging and sooner rather than later you'll be up for expensive repairs i.e. rebuild etc.

If you're planning to do quite a bit to it (which it sounds like you want to), get one in reasonable condition with as many mods as you can get. If you're planning to just do the basics like cooler, exhaust and pod, find a nice clean stocker.

You can usually find nice clean examples with a few minor mods already done to them, just have to look I guess

I'd prefer to go totally stock and add bits myself personally, but my R34 came with a HKS pod filter, SSQV BOV, turbo timer and nice wheels so it saved me a few things I would've done eventually anyway,

Km's aren't always an accurate indication of condition with imports, so cross your T's and dot your I's when you decide on one

id pref a nice stocker low k's, as your budget that provide will just fit in that bracket, with another 10g that are your gonna put in it,

ie GTRS kit $2600, cooler kit $500, Full exhaust $1200, aftermarket computer $500-$1800, suspension $3000, cam gear $250 poncam $800, pod/bov and a few gauges $1200, thats about 10g alone for parts. plus labour.. mm

but it will send the car in the 12s easily

wel thats my 2 cent :)

Thankyou Sheng for your input,

I was hoping to pick up a stocker, or a car with minimal work done to it. Such as cooler and exhaust, hard to find a car without this done to it already. With that said from the money id save from putting an exhaust and cooler i can get a bigger turbo.
