Forward Facing Plenum

Hi guys,

I'm after a forward facing plenum for my rb20det.. so, i'm not after any power gain, just for the look of engine bay and shorten the pipe..

any downside of using forward facing plenum with rb20?

yeah there is, the different runner lengths of the new plenumn may kill all downlow that the RB20 has.. so will feel more gutless offboost, while there will be no difference up top.

pick and choose wisely

will they do any damage to my engine? cause i've got stock ecu

and do i need to do anything else to fit this plenum and make it work?

Too much effort and cost for too little gain especially if you choose wrong, it's really not worth it on an rb20 unless your aiming for 250kW+. The shortening of the intercooler piping will have no effect on the net hp, it'll just make it a bit more throttle responsive at cruising speeds, but you'll also lose that with the huge volume of after market plenum's.

Pointless unless you're chasing big power in excess of 260rwkw...the stock plenums have supported up to that amount...have a search...

As a rule of thumb, the shorter the intake runner, the less response at low rpm, but more power at higher rpm... longer intake runner is vice versa.

If you find one that re-uses the factory intake runners, 'a-la plazmaman style' then you should be fine... and possibly improve response due to shorter i/c piping *thumbsup*

as i said i NOT after on power gain... just want the look of the engine bay and if it dose not make any damage to the engine, i'll do it

thats just it, if you get a bad design then its going to give un even air distribution, which could see cyln 1 running lean...
