From what I have been told by a reliable source that plays in hwy patrol cars all day is that the dvd's are free. I also believe that all hwy patrol officers are wired up with a mic so it would record whatever they say along with the camera pointing out the front and rear windows at you.

Yea i got pulled over in my 34 on the way to canberra this week by a hwy and the first thing they do is tell you everything you say or do is being recorded. Was caught doing 122 when i should only be doing 100, copped it fair and square, mind you they were waiting right on the bottom of the big dip on hume hwy, saw the same cop with some others on the way back doing radar, gave em the thumbs up doing 98km/h on the way back, the looks on their faces...priceless

I had my gps set to warn me when exceeding 110km/h, every 30sec it was "ding ding ding ding" it's just an akward spot 110 so I ended up doing about 100-105 the whole way whilst watching other cars and trucks fly past like I was still.

Well yes that's what i'd normally do but the Hume Hwy is the worst place to speed. All the police cadets training in Goulborn along with all the cadets/officers travelling to/from Sydney for work along the Hwy isn't a good idea...

Yea guess i should have been more careful, mind you there was another car on the inside lane and we had a subaru outback with us driving infront, both were going faster than i was. at least he didn't tell me to pop the bonnet...

Years ago when I drove interstate for a living I used to use a dictafone to record when I was pulled over, often the police officer asked was I recording what he was say ,I always replied no Im recording what Im saying any background noise dosnt matter but dont yell and scream at me

cheers Peter

yeah ive heard of someone doing that too, they spent some time locked up so everytime they got pulled over they got a really really hard time from the police, so he recorded all the conversations that he had with police and they tightened up their act when they realised they were being recorded.
