If they bolt right on, you'll probably need the 4 door bootlid as well. The edge tapers at an angle to match the light, where the 2 door one has a curved corner.

can anyone comfirm this?? if they bolt straight on and only need 4 door bootlid, i wouldn't mind to do this also .. like 4 door rear lights tho

cheers

You're going to need the rear bar as well.

From what I can see, I don't think they'll be a straight swap over. The part where the indicator is on the sedan's, the lights are more curved compared to the coupes.

My answer would be that it's not a straight swap over, but then it doesn't hurt to try it for yourself.

its a straight fit with some minor modifications (well it is when changing from 4dr lights to 2dr lights)

from 4dr to 2dr you will need:

2dr bootlid

rear bar

both taillights

to make the taillights fit, you gotta cut away abit of the metal where it slots in to make it sit neatly, at the bottom of the boot, you will need to weld a 5mm metal strip on to make the gap as small as possible like as if it was an original 2dr rear. you can get away without welding the metal strip on but the gap from the rear boot > rear bar (above where it says skyline) will be like 2cm or a bit more.

i assume it would be the same when going from 2dr lights to 4dr except for the welding of the metal strip and cutting away some metal to fit the taillights.

if anyone wants to do it, im willing to be up for a swap (ive got a 4dr) preferbly a silver skyline :D

i like the 2dr lights better, much more agressive and sexy looking

have you found a thread, going through this in more depth or have you done it yourself? because i agree with you on the 2 door lights looking tougher and much sexier  and i have been looking for a decent thread or some kind of write-up about how to convert to the 2 door lights on a 4 door. like this :D

Not trying to sound rude to you all, but all of you guys are wrong.

I personally have converted a sedan to coupe tail lights (see pic)

None of the parts are interchangable. The coupe boot lids are wider. And the coupe tail lights have a bigger (note: much bigger) bulb holders.

Bumpers do not fit as well, you gotta redrill everything
