Hey guys, while driving back home today, i had some white smoke gush out the exhaust, smelt acidic......checked oil and it was milky, sugns of a headgasket, coolant was fully drained aswell!....

trailered it back...heres the plan of attack:

Remove head

take head to reconditioner to get crack tested, check, re-surfaced etc...make sure its still in good condition

repklace headgasket and use arp head studs

torque accordingly

install head, coolant and oil

is this about the right procedure when doing a gasket for a 26, anything adviseable to do when its all out???i hear you use thin oil at the start then run the good stuff afterwards?

anyone care to elaborate.
