Hey Guys

As the title says, i'm going to throw out a warning about <NAME REMOVED>. He is a Japanese importer located on Parramatta Road. All that i have to say that the salesman who delt with me was shonty. He pressured me into buying one of the cars like crazy and wouldnt even let me drive it back to the dealership without me first putting down a "lazy hundred". the dealer made me sign what i thought was a holding deposit slip but turned out to be a contract of saleship. the salesman's name was <REMOVED>. This in turn was pretty sad, but what is worse is that when i tried to collect my holding deposit, he refused to give it to me there and then. But claimed he would send me a check, now two weeks later, no check has arived.

I just want to warn other people about how this lot works. I brought my car from another dealership. during payment i asked him about the period of time before i am locked into a contract. The scary thing is that, after telling him my tale, without naming the dealership or salesman, he guessed the dealership and got the salesman's name in two guesses.

Just a warining to people that this dealership isnt the best to work with, especially if you're just looking around. however i am sure that there would be people out there that have had good experiences with them.

Cheers Guys

advise, contact fair trading and report the person and dealer ship.. false documentation and explaination of a document voids contract anyway.

record conversations in future if you cannot get a written recording.

I've had another dealer try an do this to me on parramatta rd. After a pre-purchase inspection showed the car was no good i asked for my $100 back but they refused. I jus sat there until they eventually gave in and swapped the inspection report for my 100.

It was something i didn't want to do as they could band aid fix all the problems on the report and sell it to the next sucker.

Do u have a copy of what u signed?

Id certainly be going to fair trading.

Although, if you thought you were being pressured into it all, why didnt you walk away?

If you havent got your cheque back, just keep going back every day!

The guys here are correct. I work in Marketing and under the Fair Trading / Trade Practices Act what he did is illegal. I find that if I tell people like that I know my rights and they had better shape up or I will report. Know the process. You have to give them a chance to correct the situation before you can appeal. But if they mislead you then you have the right to notify the appropriate trade office.

Hope it all worked out for you.

My sentiments exactly,

I'm in no way condoning or defending the salesman's actions, but if you felt that you were being dealt with inappropriately why didn't you just say no and walk away? It must have been a very decent example you were looking at purchasing for you to put up with the salesmans antics because if it happened exactly the way you said it did then that's very dodgey

Hope it works out for you

A salesman on parra road tried to sell me an r34 GT that had been turbocharged, passing it off as a GT-T, you only had to look past the cheap chromies to see the pussy little non turbo brake setup, was even asking the same amount of money as a genuine GT-T aswell!

Yea i understand where everyone is coming from and i agree. i should have told him to go f**k himself and other such words, but i had taken the car for a test drive and he wouldnt get back into the car without me handing over the money. Was a crock of shit. The funny thing is i would have brought the car had he not been so pushy, i did like it but he turned me off it. that and it really didnt go that well.

The other dealership where i brought my car, the salesman there lodged a complaint against him for me. claiming that i was mis lead and that tactict like that were hurting his buisness by giving them all a bad name. Agree 100% with him. Anyway i will just have to see how it all turns out. doubt i will get my money back though from what ive heard from other people who have had similar problems.

We need people power i think. Everyone who has had a problem with them should all get together and lodge a formal complaint. Then perhaps the right people will start to take notice and try and fix the problem.

forum rules don't allow you to name the car dealer. please use pm only

Why cant i use there name? Im trying to warn people about what seems to be a common problem. dont we have the right to know about such dealers, so that people dont keep getting screwed by them? i think in an instance like this the name is appropriate but i guess rules are rules. If anyone wants to know, pm me and i shall tell

As I said, just keep going back there day after day, just sitting in their yard - they'll get the shits soon enough and say "I'll leave when I get my $$$ back f*kkers"

Or if the cars are unlocked - just keep sitting in them, lock yourself in! haha

nah j/k - dont want you to get into trouble!

you can name names, just not publicly, in case they see this and start suing the forum. Hence the reason they suggested PM.

Ah yeah, I know who he's talking about with 1 guess... very pushy and very full of shit.

I don't expect sales folks to know 'every' thing about their product inside out, but these jokers are like talking to a know it all dipshit teenager and just don't understand "no", they do however understand "f**k-off-ee"

    • @soviet_merlin Thanks mate!  Nothing too major but will hold me up for a while. I've got lymphomas to get taken off the back of my neck and the middle of my spine which always conjures scary thoughts!  It sounds worse than it is. Yeah great, conjuring more rabbit hole deepening , just what I need! 🤣
    • I'd argue the F50 kit I got is very good value. For ~2k I got the calipers (refurbed condition), adapters, pads, brake lines, rotors, and top hats. I think you'd be pretty hard to get Evo/GTR/350z brembos + the additional hardware for similar money. Used market for a pair of front calipers alone I've seen tend to run anywhere from $1500-2000 depending on condition.    That said, something like a GTR or 350z brembo is a lot easier to adapt to the Silvia.
    • Is there a significant price difference between the Evo/gtr/350z brembos vs the F50? Looks amazing.
    • I was actually being a tightarse at the time LOL... My OCD is tickling me into running a 2nd 8AN Teflon hose all the way down and removing the 2x OEM hardlines. My other side of my brain is telling me to run 2x hardlines front to back (also acts as a fuel cooler, so win win).
    • As I mentioned in an earlier post, I had some trouble with the Silvia's brakes dragging back in 2023. I managed to sort it out then, but the same problem came back to bite me late last year. Just take a look at the picture – I had a feeling the handbrake was acting up again, and I was right. Anyway, I'd been wanting to upgrade to bigger brakes for a while. Not that the Silvia's brakes were bad, but it was more of a "want" than a "need", you know? It was funny, though – at the time, I couldn't find any Evo Brembos, 350Z Brembos, or GTR Brembos for a decent price (of course, tons of them popped up online after I already bought my kit!). I ended up going with an F50 Brembo kit, which came with adapters, brake lines, 330mm rotors, and top hats. The F50 Brembo caliper was used in a few other cars too, like the FPV. I also decided this was the perfect opportunity to ditch the Silvia's ridiculous rear brakes and that awful handbrake (some of you were definitely right about that!). I picked up some R33 calipers and all the necessary bits – rear drums, backing plates, and new hardware to refurbish the calipers. Of course, it wouldn't be a project without a few hiccups. Turns out the brake master cylinder was playing up and basically (to put it simply) keeping the brakes engaged. I had it overhauled, and after some adjustments, everything was working again. The whole process took a while, as you can imagine. To top it off, the front right wheel bearings were shot and needed replacing too. This is a rare occasion where I'm posting an update while it's all still fresh! These pictures were taken just this afternoon.
