I believe I know the dealer you are talking about as I had a fairly average time at one of the dealers on Parra Rd. They tried to push me way too hard to buy something after a test drive. He wouldnt even let me drive it unless I put $XX so he drove it himself, flogged the living crap out of it and smoked seconds down the back street!!

On the other hand, I bought my car from Tokyo Imports on Parra Rd. Good guys and were more than happy to help :)

I almost bought my car from there but found one slightly better somewhere else. Tokyo had alot of r32's to choose from but only 1 with sunroof. Salesman was decent too.

Yeah mate. They were top guys. They also had a good selection of 32's in there when I bought mine. Mine was the only blue one :)

Although, if you thought you were being pressured into it all, why didnt you walk away?

Exactly

Did the sales rep grab your hand and force you to sign the paper? At the end of the day there are good sales reps and bad ones, ive met some shockers, but never met one that forced the customer to sign a page.

As the customer, you hold all the power during bargaining.

Interesting thread.

When i went R33 shopping i went to several Parra Rd dealers. Two in Granville, one had a decent and friendly sales rep, let me go for a test drive without fuss, and let me go when i had a thrash without any problems. Across from him another dealer wouldn't even start the car (which was a very sh!tty example of an R33) unless i paid a deposit.

He asked to do business, so we walked to his office and had discussed my finances, employment record, budget and what colour undies i was wearing.

I left without even driving the bomb. A week later i saw the exact same candy R33 (recognisable by the rims) with the owner standing beside it on the road and the hazards on. Sigh.

I remember seeing the exact same candy colour on an S15 at the yard...does the guy buy smashed imports and respray them himself? Anyway...

Went to another dealer in Burwood that i bought one off, he was full of crap too (every single dealer, bar the first one, lied and wanked on like i'm some idiot. One guy even said "the series 1 has more power than series 2 R33". I said, "Well, no, series 2 has more power mate". He went quiet.)

I saw past all his lying and gave the car a comb over, test drive, and went home and thought about it. I came back and signed for it, not regretting it since. But my lesson is not to be intimidated by some of these cons, to walk away (i did about 6 times) and hold your cards close.

Let the car speak for itself, not the lying bullsh!t artist who wants to get rid of his lemons.

Power to the ppl.

I remember the first dealer i went to look for my R34, it was on parra rd as well. He wouldn't let me test drive a car that i had looked at on the car website, unless i was willing to buy. In short he gave me his whole life story, story about the company blah blah blah.

The funny thing was, the car was stated as being a GT-T, but when i looked inside the interior, it did not have the centre guage cluster (i'm sure only turbo had the centre cluster and the non turbo had nothing).

The last thing i said to him was 'No test drive, i won't recommend and i won't come back'

=D that's where I went too, great fellas.

Yep that's where I bought my R34 GT-T sedan (5 speed manual), which are quite rare in manual.

The car was absalutely immaculate (as most of their cars are), they put no pressure on me, and I got a very good price. I wouldn't say their expensive at all. I saw many other 2 doors on Parramatta Rd for much higher prices.

And what's more I went back about a month later and they gave me a straight swap of the factory wheels for a set of 17" enkei alloys. Can't ask for more than that!!!!

As far as this signing contracts thing goes... recalling from legal studies in yr11; if they so much as mark the page and tell you to "sign here" - it legally voids the contract, as you are simply complying with a request or something

it may be wrong... if so, sue the nsw gov. for giving false information in schools system >_<

Hi mate, I know exactly which dealership u r talking about! same thing happened to me, and i know the guy also! seems to be daddys dealership. I did get my "lazy hundred" back after a few months of calling 1-2 times a week. apparently his receptionish was sick for that period. I could contact him tho which was not soo bad.

These guys are dodgy. They tried to get me to buy an r32 with scratches all over it saying 'but its original paint'.

"Well, considerin' the semi-classical nature of the vee-hickal with the slick wheels and the custom paint job....."

"Wait, the paint's faded!"

"Yeah, but its custom."

"Its custom faded?"

"Well its your first car, I wouldn't expect you to understand."

Somehow, I doubt that the R32 you were looking at would turn out to be a giant robot that turns itself into an R35 GT-R when the hot chick you've had a crush on says it looks like a piece of shit......

    • You don’t need to use full throttle all the time to break these blocks, 500kw at the wheels in more then enough to break them even with an occasional squirt. Hell I’ve seen them break under 400kw
    • A work around is to install the R35 card style AFM/MAF on the cold side of the intercooler piping and the BOV on the hot side piping. Works well, also you can combat the revs dropping by adding a bit more ignition timing on the idle ignition timing table to slow the rate of RPM drop.
    • Understood. If you dont have a ridiculous limit,  Tune, T's and P's are in check, and arent bashing it all the time and doing the due deligence for maintenance(inc oil analysis) then its pretty safe. 100% agree, let your right food control it to some extent.
    • So these external kits with the machined block for remote solenoid mount will only work on a NEO head and RB30 or RB26 bottom end   For an R33 head on a 26 bottom end the remote vct kit is to resolve RB26 manifold adaptor plates etc  IF you try to use the remote VCT on an RB30 or RB26 bottom end with an R33 head then  you can starve the cam journal??? I have one of these kits from bits I had years ago before plans changed  I don't understand how that tracks with this video   https://youtu.be/RuPiI22Mplk?feature=shared   This looks like I can run the v termite vct kit to feed the VCT on an R33 head on an RB26 bottom end?!?!?   Lol.... don't v have these problems on RB20s
    • Yeah i know that MAF is no no for this type of BoV. The engine has no BoV and "hose/pipes" ..it was all deleted (or probably it was not even on the engine when it was bought  ) It does that "sutututu" noise which i kinda do not want(atmospheric is better IMO...but standalone ECU)  What are the cons of running without blow off on stock RB25DET NEO. It running 5-7 PSI max (it has boost controller)   EDIT: and can Nistune be "tuned" to know there is no BoV to i dont know "know" and be better for a car? I read so many info about no BoV. One guy saying it is bad and hurting the turbo/engine/car and other that it does not...
