Lithium
Hi All, some of you may know that the Heat Treatments R32 GT-R has been in development in the off season and now is sporting a redeveloped engine/trans/turbo setup with the intention of going quicker. It is now back together and is now tuned and ready to run again with the intention of knocking its world record down a bit lower. Its next meet will be on the 5th of January at Meremere in NZ, given it will be the first meet with the new setup I wouldn't necessarily expect any records straight off - but I'll be there and will post up results if there are any people interested. Swiper the Fox
Ive seen this car run on a very green track at Taupo and i must say it was truely amazing. Considering the car ran 7.67 and 7.77 on such a track, i have the utmost respect for Reece as it was all over the place throughout the entire pass. The front diff. broke at 3/4 track on the 7.77 pass and was a PB (read:on pace for new world record pass) to 1/2 track. All the best to Reece, Kevin and all the crew. Lithium
Gah apparently they are having teething problems with it so it won't be racing quite so soon Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/199359-heat-treatments-gt-r/#findComment-3556632 Share on other sites

Lithium
Wow, Bring on new world record boys. All looks on track for this Saturday. Apparently they have done initial tuning/testing and going by the numbers etc which have been going around, its probably going to go "rather fast" Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/199359-heat-treatments-gt-r/#findComment-3613222 Share on other sites
Lithium
Last weekend HT finally got the thing out for a meet without any niggles, and managed a 7.80 @ 182mph on its now getting old slicks. Looks like they are quickly coming to grips with the new setup, should be very interesting when they decide to start winding the power up!! NYTSKY
A 7.8 is pretty impressive for a shakedown run. What is their target 7.0s? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/199359-heat-treatments-gt-r/#findComment-3725313 Share on other sites
Lithium
A 7.8 is pretty impressive for a shakedown run. What is their target 7.0s? Not sure what their target is - I think they just reckon they can go quicker than they did and would like a mid/low 7. I guess there is the hint that people might be intending on giving them some competition so good to keep it on form haha. Lots of fun seeing it get quicker, nonetheless. Seeing a R32 GTR charge down the track in sub 8s really is a sight to behold, a lot more exciting than your typical tube RWD etc - looks a lot angrier. blitzen
Hi Guys, I'm looking for some good pics of the HT R32 to feature in a book. If anyone has some good ones of the engine bay and exterior (preferably on the strip) and would like them featured in a book, then please e-mail or PM me. I only have a couple of days to get the last pictures together for the publisher ( we are already miles behind schedule), so any help in the next couple of days would be most appreciated. The book is due to be released very soon and is all about the history of the GT-R, including all the road and race variants. It will be heavily concentrating on the engineering side of the cars, but will nicely feature all the models in good depth. Thanks in advance people!! Kind regards Paul. Lithium
Have a look at their website www.htlracing.co.nz and get in touch with them there, or at least have a look there. The car will be racing again at Jamboree in Oz this year. Lithium
The car never made it to Oz obviously, but it finally did some shake downs with its new engine/suspension/wheel & tyre changes last weekend and was straight back in the 7s with plenty more in it by the sounds: Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/199359-heat-treatments-gt-r/#findComment-4323062 Share on other sites
Lithium
Just for the interest of those that way inclined, the lads seem to have been busy with the new bigger turbo setup and have done some testing at the strip and some suspension/alignment tweaking to get the car down the strip better and one gets the impression that its all heading in a good direction. Last weekend Reece ran a single full 1/4 mile pass and recorded a 1.19s 60ft time (which is its best on NZ soil) on the way to a 7.8 @ 177mph. This run was done with too much clutch, so there was plenty available power not making it to the tyres - as many here would know the car is capable of >190mph trap speeds when the boot gets really put in so fingers crossed there should be some fun times ahead. This weekend in the NZ Four and Rotary nationals event, with the drags on Sunday - fingers crossed there may be some interesting results to report for both the Heat Treatments guys and also Robbie Ward who will be racing his RIPS FED, which has to date run a 7.4 but I quietly suspect that it has a bit more in it yet Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/199359-heat-treatments-gt-r/#findComment-5059909 Share on other sites

Lithium
Weather was pretty aweful, they didn't get a clean run in that I am aware of. Fastest time I heard was 8 flat, I ended up getting sick of the weather and left so didn't see any of their runs. RIPS left without having a go, as well.
