no going to Malaysia or Singapore is cheaper than going to Melbourne. I was looking into the for the GT500 racing to see the R35 race. about $1500 for 6 days including airfares and hotels http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Su...l&hl=sepang

definately couldn't spend 6 nights in melbourne and see the gp for $1500.

depend where you stay and who you know to get tickets from.

speaking to David Richards the other day they are still not happy they are being stopped from running the ex McLaren Chassis. Williams are still the biggest campaigners against Prodrive. But i'm guessing being Berrnie which ever side has the most money will get their way

for sure. 6 nights in melbourne probably costs me $1500 in cans alone!

Gees if I had a dollar for everytime a GP driver used the expression "for sure" or maximum...

Problem is that for the majority of them English is not their first languge & they get tutored in what to say by the PR people. Which means you either get a Kimi (pick one) saying nothing or generic gobshite instructed by the PR people.

Oh and since when does "top 11 finish" sound better than 11th?

haha me and my mate love it when they use 'for sure'

The best was a combo by either Kimi or it might've been Massa...

"I think so for sure we will be competitive" or something along those lines....Massa uses for sure HEAPS and he speaks like 8 languages...

Well atleast there is some more sponsorship stickers on it this year round. Hopefully the $'s are there to back it up. They took a bath financially a couple years ago when BMW did the dirty on them. I don't know why Toyota don't start writing some cheques for Frank. He hoses their factory team on far fewer dollars. Give him a few more & "factory" status (Like Renault used to do with Lotus) and he could get more sponsorship still.

Car looks good & the lap times are good. Drivers are quality. Everything looks to be in place for another improved year for the boys from Grove. :D

If this keeps up I may yet have to commit to some Nakajima merchandise.

good stuff

so i know what the hit is going to be in 2011, roughly what has it all set you back?

1k for tickets.

1k for flights.

Staying with a mate of mine from boarding school who's family live in Singapore, his old man works on the offshore rigs so we got a roof over our heads...

Plus accomodation for the GP weekend was massively overpriced... Daylight fcking robbery...

I was only talking to a friend in Singapore the other day. They all still work and live in Bugis with out Singapore office looking out over part of the track. The problem is ticket prices as could probably get work to hook me uyp with airfares if i do a 2-3 month stint over there. Plus, so many funny places to go and drink

    • My hold point for future mods is that I want a OEM detachable hard top first, but, finding one is a pain, MX5 Mania are looking for one for me, but, as hens teeth are more common, finding one in Australia is proving problematic  I can get a OEM one from overseas, hell, you can still get new ones in 'Merica, but, shipping is a absolute killer and I cannot justify the cost, or the risk of it being damaged during transport As for the aftermarket hardtops, whilst they do the job of being a hard top, and are fine for a track car, they don't seal well (read: leak like a sieve in the rain), and you need a plastic/poly rear window, plus they are a bolt in option only and not made to be easily removed I liked how the hard top on my NB could be fitted, and removed, by myself, in less than 5 minutes I know it sounds bad, but I'm waiting for someone to write off a car with one so I can swoop in on their pain, it will go to a good home though, so my guilt of this is tempered
    • I’ve got one on mine and it’s fine,
    • No, you don't want to plug the vacuum line, as that will turn that side of the booster into an air spring and probably make it feel worse. I'm not saying that the GTR master itself doesn't need a booster. I haven't paid attention to the GTR one to know what size it is cf the non-GTR ones. But when you think about it - they have to do the same job, which is to move a little slave piston a few mm to do what it is supposed to do, and that final action is the same on all the cars. So, it is very unlikely that the GTR MC is any different than the others, because it has the same pedal stroke and the same output requirement. The booster just makes it feel easier. I'd suggest you probably have an actual hydraulic problem. It's totally common on these old shitboxes.
    • Ye, in terms of bolting up the "Conversion" from a GT to a GTT is effectively "Use GTT parts for everything" Except the subframe itself, because you won't want a HICAS/4WS subframe. Remember your ABS system will be different too, thanks to GT being the S15 3 sensor system, instead of the R34 4 sensor system for wheel speed. I do not know how people get this to work given R34 diffs do not have a provision for an ABS sensor (they are on the tone wheels of the axles). I assume***** people use S15 gear/R34NA forever when they realize this - Or they convert it to a rear diff/axles that are R33 style which I presume has the singular speed sensor on the diff itself, but then you have to wire it all in and...and... and...
