look im not saying he needed to be DSQ, but at least make him come in and rip it off as part of his stop or something

imagine that thing collecting the guy behind him. nobody wants that

yep, and ferrari had that opportunity but played to the FIA to overlook it coz that wouldve lost Kimi time, lol.

Im so sick of ferrari manipulating the boards.

Cmon, you know thats the way the game is played these days...

McLaren are the scapegoat and ferrari are the victims.

I hope BMW spank em both to be frank.

Im loving the way this championship is shaping up.

Anyone who says this championship is anywhere near decided needs to stfu. There are still 100 points up for grabs and there are 5 ...even 6 drivers in it.

2008 , keep it rolling.

god... if that were the case, imagine hamilton driving for the fez

i'd have to assassinate the muppet

i dont think i could stomach a season of that sort of insane whinging, self richeous, manipulating behaviour

Theyd go hand in hand wouldnt they? Such is the acknowledged gheyness.

I dont feckin believe it.

That was a bloody marginal call at best.

marginal? kidding yourself once again.

He obviously couldn't make the chicane as he was going way too fast after making the pass, so why shouldn't he be penalized? with the run offs available to drivers these days, anyone can pass if they choose to straight line the chicanes taking advantage of the nice smooth surface on offer off track.

if you got an HD tv you should get the channel for free

I've got 2 HD LCD's and neither of them will tune in to it for some reason.

Kimi, 60 laps with a bloody broken part flapping in the breeze and guess what..?

60 laps? lol.

and for god's sake stop stating the bleedingly obvious as if its something no one else would pick up on.

Dezz, are you argumentative for arguments sake or do you just not like me?

I dont care either way really, but im saying hamilton was past and lost traction, sliding sideways before the chicane. So do you think he should be penalized for losing control? If yes, then Raikkonen should have been penalised for losing control in Monaco.

If no, then you would be in agreement with Ron Dennis who i would say knows a hell of a lot more about racing than you.

If its the bleeding obvious for me to point out that raikkonnen rightly should have been pulled in AGAIN and head the part removed, then i see no reason not to discuss it.

The simple fact is that you have some fundamental problem with ALL of my views on the sport and id like you to stop being so antagonistic.

Hamilton was damn right when he said this and many others agree with him...

*Eventually persuaded to speak about the incident with Vettel, which effectively cost him any chance of finishing in the points, Hamilton commented: "I don't particularly feel I did anything. I went into the corner. I believe I was ahead on the outside and I couldn't turn in on the guy otherwise we would have crashed so I took the outside line, lost the back on the marbles and went over the kerb. I continued because I don't believe I overtook him by going over the kerb, I actually took him before that."*

I dont get it. Vettel was cutting the kerbs lap after lap in Canada to keep Heikki behind him and was not penalized ONCE. How is that "NOT gaining a performance advantage" which is exactly what Lewis was hammered with. It f**ked his race properly. The pathetic stewards of the FIA should not have been investigating the incident in the first place. Once that was in motion, there was no turning back so the only option was for them to give him the "lightest" punishment available - the drive through - because by starting the process they HAD to...

Utter bullshit if you ask me.

McLaren - what can you say? 10 spots for Lewis, 5 for Heikki, drive-through for Lewis etc etc...

Wheres it going to end? No other team has been targeted like this all season but there have been countless times when others should have been penalized and WERENT.

Theres no equality with the FIA - and ill tell you whats bleeding obvious, and thats that the FIA is obviously taking kickbacks to cripple McLaren any way they can.

“My drive-through penalty was an extremely close call: I felt I’d got past Vettel fairly and was ahead going into the corner. But I was on the outside and couldn’t turn-in in case we both crashed, then I lost the back-end and drove over the kerb.

i suppose we need to determine if his passing move was completed or not.

I don't really agree with that.

To me that video says he went into the corner too fast, and the car slid as he was about to go off the corner anyway.

If his pass was completed, there was no need to take the outside line (he didn't exactly leave much room for Vettel anyway), so why did he do it?

If his pass wasn't completed, then he gained something from cutting the chicane.

He was carrying speed - probably too much but the point here is whether or not he gained a performance advantage from it - seeing as that was the reason the FIA decided to penalize him and the case against it is 3 fold.

Firstly, the same guy who was passed, Vettel, was never penalised for his frequent indiscretions over the same driving in Canada. Secondly, even the FIA admit the indiscretion was marginal at best yet they also conceded that by starting the investigation, left them no choice but to give him a penalty, the most lenient one.

Thirdly, cmon, it was a STR. Its not like it wouldnt have happened again a couple of corners later.

There needs to be consistency in these decisions but at the moment there appears to be blatant bias.

You see, heres the rub. We lament the fact that there isnt any overtaking in F1 and heres hamilton with a pair of balls going for it and almost making it stick.

He gets penalized for something we'd like to see, ffs.

I think Hammo, as ragged as he was was awesome aggro. The move on Alonso was teh sickness...

hmm

why do you always make it out to be the world v's hamilton ? or FIA v's hamilton.

at the end of the day for all the rumors that have come out that ferrari has the FIA in its pocket are just rumours. there is no hard fact to prove otherwise.

The call was made on Hamilton and he should take it on the chin and move on, he wasn;t anywhere quick the whole race so really he would have been lucky to grab afew points

I'll have say that FIA was just inconsistant during that GP

I think Lewis did check with the team to see if that was a pass, which is why he continued on.

The manuver itself was a little diffult to comment on, it looked like he made the pass but then it didn't 'stick mid corner. Really hard to say. But then the FIA has more info on the incident than the TV station.

And as much as I'm a Ferrari fan, I don't konw why they didn't pull kimmi in for that exhaust, down right dangerous.

So yeah, inconsistant.

umm wtf? i dont think that comment about him being a wog is necessary, and find it offense

jesus FCUKING christ, it was a joke

no sense of humour what so fkn ever with some people, if i can take being called one on a daily basis, then so can he

as you probably have read adam

the penalty was not for gaining a position, it was for keeping what seemed to be an unfair advantage... and hamilton got what he deserved. Alothough, Vettel should have have been punished for what he was doing in Canada, it does seem nonesensical to apply it here.

this is why the races are a joke to watch lately

Its not so much the FIA against hamilton but what the hell is the deal with the FIA and McLaren??

100 million dollar fine...all these penalties...

How can we sit here and say, "Nah, thats all just a coincidence."

I still to this day cannot understand how Ferrari got away without even a slap on the wrist when they were involved in the spying saga. If it takes two to tango, the FIA shouldve hardened the feck up and slammed them both.

yeah, Ive, i know many think it was an unfair advantage and lets suppose McLaren were on the blower to the FIA and hammo telling him to keep going - that they thought he wasnt going to get penalised, its Mac's cock up and thats pretty daft - the red light in Canada and now this...

I suppose Mac are shooting themselves in the foot and it wouldnt be the first time...

    • It's excellent but I'm still breaking it in so I'm not 100% sure where it'll end up. I would say it's about 15% heavier than stock and the smoothness of the slip zone is quite progressive but you need to be a little patient compared to stock or it'll bite hard and stall. Stock I got away with absolutely horrid clutch control. Like I said before I couldn't even tell where the clutch would grab when it was stock so releasing way too quickly without enough revs it would just slip and the revs would drop lower than ideal but that would be the end of it. Currently there's a bit of a nasty clutch judder if I don't apply enough revs + find the exact wrong point of the slip point in the clutch pedal but it feels like it's slowly resolving as I drive it more. I would not recommend the competition clutch unless you really need the extra clamp force. I think this clutch combined with the Nismo operating cylinder is going to be exactly what I want. Enough bite that you need to remember the release point to avoid stalling or rough shifts, but progressive enough that it's not hard to drive by any means and not heavy at all. I tried a "super single" clutch on my friend's 997.2 Turbo 6MT and that was absolutely horrid. It runs an electrohydraulic power steering pump for the clutch power boost so there's zero feedback in the clutch pedal and there was a horrific clutch shudder well after break-in due to the lack of marcel springs or hub springs in the friction disk. It felt like the slip zone was the thickness of a single toe twitch as well so it was almost impossible to avoid stalling it unless you gave it a ton of revs and just dumped the clutch instead of trying to be smooth with it. I was terrified of pulling out in front of traffic. I have also tried some kind of "super single" on an EK9 and that makes this twin plate Coppermix look like a stock clutch. Releasing the clutch pedal even slightly too quickly feels like you're getting rear-ended. The pedal is extremely heavy as well and there's no vacuum assist like the GTR.
    • Yeah, well I was probably way underguessing the $300 figure anyway. Just multiplied a "normal" by 4 for the purposes of pointing out it's not cheap, particularly if it has to be repeated.
    • We have an alignment shop out here that does what you're talking about but he wants like 800 AUD a pop. DIY is "cheaper" but once you start accounting for the value of your time I'm not sure it's worth it.
    • The main catch phrase for any car is "the eye of the beholder", and "personal tastes and preferences" And as for the plastic "flares", I honestly think they look cheap and tacky, and I cannot see them aging well, maybe if they were body colour they might look better to my eyes, but, I would still prefer it the were more like the older WRX STI models that had the wider body metal panels In saying all this 5hit, I wouldn't buy a new WRX again, even if it had the wide body metal panels
