All Ferrari had to do at that first pit stop, was look at Maclaren, see what they were doing for Hammo, and copy, and add a few more laps of fuel. Then Kimi would of leap-frogged Hamilton at the 2nd pit stop. That's pretty straight forward isn't it?

Pretty impressive when Hamilton went on to be lapping 6 seconds faster than most of the field on the same tyres later on in the race. Also some big balls moves by him right at the start trying to take Kov and eventually passing him.

For Christ sake, he salvaged 4th in woeful circumstances, was it not only a couple of races ago, in predictable circumstances where Hammo couldn't even get into the points from a bad start?? 4th Was great for Kimi considering the events that unfolded, anyone would think he was lapped 10 times and finished dead last the way are talking about the Ferraris, I agree about Massa though, deft one to forget for him..

It's remarkably surprising how quickly people have forgotten his little off track excursion...

No one forgot it- He got a little taily turning in under brakes and ran out of room to gather it up before the edge of the track (understandable given the conditions)

So that was 1 minor indiscretion versus how many full spins for everyone else?. Massa went for almost 3 full rotations on one outing :D (of the many)

Sad times ahead for Williams. I will bet money that Rosberg will be gone at years end. He simpy cant afford to play ball at Williams any longer. He needs to jump ship soon before a new flock of it drivers enter the ranks.

But where to. Heidfeld needs to continue driving like a champion at BMW to keep his seat. Kubica wont be going anywhere whilst Ferrari have contracted drivers. The only teams i can see pickingup Rosberg are Renault longside Alonso or Honda.

I can only really see Alonos leaving Renault for Nicks seat at BMW, in which case Renault would kill for Rosberg over the other drivers on the market. Nick and Rosberg could be an interesting pairingat Renault. LOL, after beingtold a few weeks ago that the driver market was about to go into overdrive it looks like it has slowed down

well very dissapointing outing for my boys webber and kubica.

webber had it all for the taking. and sadly he dropped it on lap one. he looked good for a comeback and watching him move up from 18th to 10th was awesome, but why on earth the team decided to leave him on worn inters when there was more rain forecast is beyond me. that same mistake cost kimi a podium too. had webber either got new inters or even done one stint on wets he no doubt would have been up in the points. however he still maintains 8th in the WDC which is no mean feat in a red bull. still it was a big opportunity to grab a podium in a topsy turvy kind of race and he squandered it.

I don't really know what the koobs problem was but he didn't exactly cover himself in glory either.

DC and Vettel coming together was just insane. two team mates should not be coming together like that.

hamilton, well he did well. drove a neat, safe race and brought it home in P1, can't ask for much more than that I guess. except that fking martin brundle had to ruin it right at the end with another bloody 'senna' comparison. wanker.

You were right? Did anyone say Rubens did or did not make the call? That article is about Rubens. It doesnt actually clarify the Ferrari situation?!?!?!?!

Doesnt really matter a whole lot, between the pit wall and coclpit they got the call wrong. So did Renault, RBR, BMW along with Ferrari. So they were not the only ones.

What is it with posts being deleted? I am beign creeped out as it looks like i am talking to myself! Come on Adam, its only piss talk. Its not like any of what we post changes the world or matters :P I know i have no credability

Super Aguri parts up for auction

If you're looking to buy a F1 car look no further than the Super Aguri auction site that is putting the team's assets, including a race car, up for sale.

The Japanese team dropped out of F1 after this year's Spanish GP due to insufficient funds. Now three months later the team's assets are up for auction.

Auctioneers SHM Smith Hodgkinson announced on www.saf1-auction.com that they had been instructed by administrators to sell the assets between July 29-31.

'Due to the recent Administration of SAF1, SHM Smith Hodgkinson are proud to announce they will be conducting an online auction of assets by order of Philip Long Esq, Brian Hamblin Esq and Ian Gould Esq of PKF (UK) LLP, Administrators of Super Aguri F1 Limited,' said a SHM statement.

'Interested bidders will get the chance to view all the lots located at SAF1's UK base in Langley, Oxfordshire, then between Tuesday 29th and Thursday 31st July 2008 they are able to register and place bids over the internet via th SHM Smith Hodgkinson website.'

The Super Aguri assets up for auction include a SA06 F1 car, transporters and for those with a bit less cash on hand, a Super Aguri sign.

    • Yeah its bad eh. Ey! Watch your mouth. Yep, spot on. The rear's are always gone too though from brake checking. I had them perilously close to a tree that we had taken down. I think the tree peeps may have taken it. Either for a trophy, or accidentally.
    • f**kin' yikes! That insulation is the shittest stuff I have ever seen. You need to do an insurance job on that f**ker, pronto. WRT to the washer cover, I would have said that there'd have to be some at a wrecker, then remembered that it's a BMW, and reasoned that every single wrecked one would have been tailgating and so the front end would be trashed.
    • Oh and I lost my headlight washer jet cover!
    • Ok, so I got myself some X1 wheels really cheap to try out, they're a bit different and I like them but they're really narrow (18x8) they are available in staggered 18x8/9 also but really hard to find.  I kinda dig them, but not as much as the F10 19's I usually run, so these go into the wheel pile.         As I mentioned in another thread, I got a new exhaust. It's an off-the-shelf stainless one that fits OH-KAY. I don't love the tips size and how far they come out the back, I think I might cut the tips off and replace with some smaller (~3") ones that don't extend as far. It sounds really good though, I'm not sure if its just in my head but the car feels a little quicker, more responsive.      I fitted an eBay special front lip. Surprisingly it fit perfectly and all holes lined up. Its a little rickety but I haven't put any double sided tape on yet, I want to clean the front bar up where it has scraped the road a lot and fil in the number plate holes (or, get body coloured wrap to cover them - is this a thing?  I'm not sure if I'll leave it gloss or pain it matte. I really like it though, I don't particularly like the front bar without it, I don't really like the M-Sport and to get anything else is just too expensive. That said, I might need a new one now anyway as I dropped the car onto the jack after forgetting to put ramps under the front wheels. It bent a lot and while it did go back to normal after I got the car off the jack, I do fear I have not done it any favours.    Lastly, my headlights died. Different problems in each. They have gotten much dimmer over the past year or so, I put new (uber expensive) OSRAM bulbs in them but to no avail. One of them pointed at the ground and the other just kinda did its own thing with light working sometimes. Yeah, check this 18 year old BMW headlight wire. I reckon I know why they were stuffed.            BTW, the yellow and black is the power to the Xenons. Yikes. I hunted around an researched my options here. I would have loved to just get a replacement harness but not a thing. My car has adaptive headlights, that is they rotate left and right with the steering wheel. Good condition used adaptive xenons were over $700 each, non adaptive were around $400 each, but I couldn't help but think that they're all around 18 years old now, surely they'd have the same problems. So I looked at newer LCI headlights but they were even more expensive and I couldn't confirm that they'd be plug and play with lots of people having lots of opinions so not worth the risk.  I ended up getting brand new Chinese headlights from MARS. They're very close to OEM with only the angel eyes being a bit different. I didnt want crazy turn signals or sharp DRL's or anything. Not my bag.  They're not adaptive, I thought thats a feature I wouldn't really miss. So I coded that out.  The lights are awesome, they look so nice and they take so many years off the car. The angel eyes look great and the headlight brightness is ridiculous. I was so used to the old ones, I didn't realise just how bad they were. The new ones use the OEM bulbs, Xenon ballast and leveller motor which I was happier with. The only issue with them is that the rear cover is held on by SEVEN screws. This will be a nightmare to get to and open when I need to change bulbs.
