and I've been saying it for months (years?) now. James Allen is the dumbest fk ever to be handed a microphone. the shit he comes up with is just mystifying. I can't stand listening to him drooling on the mic.

Some random comments:

I bet RBR are really happy about all the trouble they went to to secure Renault engines in place of Ferrari units.

All those "reliability" upgrades Ferrari have put into their motors appear to be paying off.

Does anyone think BMW will recover their early season form?

I hope BMW come back. I want to see kubie finish in the top 3 in the WDC.

stuart: not sure if massa copped a penalty for that pit lane release yet. It certainly would fall under the banner of 'unsafe release from pit box' as if ferarri was not in the last garage down he would have been having to drive through other teams pit areas (or cars!) to avoid the other car. either that or stop dead and tuck in behind. It seems likely he will get given a 10 place handicap for the next race. but I think they should have ruled on it one way or another during the race. there was plenty of time to reach a decision before the race ended.

I think when the read the word 'freeze' in the latest agreement, they must have taken it far more literally then some other team bosses in the paddock

Lewis: My sole focus is to win the Title

"I'm no No 2, whoever you put me next to - even Michael Schumacher." This is the view of Lewis Hamilton after his meteoric rise in Formula One.

no I in team

Please Schumi come back...

Shovel-fulls of humble pie required...

Bollocks to that. Don't miss him one bit. Do you really want to go back to team orders at Ferrari & all the attendant bullshit that went along with his stay there?

F1 is always about the future, not the past. In any case there are plenty of drivers for whom you can lament without worrying about the Schumacher family.

Bring on the new boys - Pantano & Senna.....

You're a fool if you think team orders in F1 left when MS retired.

Gee, Luis, you sure made that pass on Kovaleinen look damn easy...

Well thanks for the character assessment but I didn't say team orders were gone from F1. I was saying that they were in place at Ferrari when Schumacher was there to an extent that has not been present in the time since his departure.

If Massa (or Kimi for that matter) finds themselves in a dominating position over their team mate, I'm sure it'll become clear that they still exist. Same goes for McLaren (if HK was anywhere near Lewis on points) and every other team on the grid (if they were fighting for championships)

Yes but it never used to be like that at Ferrari. It used to be MS to finish ahead unless something fundamental went wrong. It was in place irrespective of championship standings other than maybe the year he injured himself.

Which was my point. Oh look never mind.

There where times where Barichello well and truly deserved the win over Schumi, but 8 out of 10 races, Schumacher was superior anyway..

Funny thing is, I remember McLaren, team and fans alike, cried, hissed and booed, calling for Todt's/Schumacher's/DeZemolo's head after the 2002 Austria bullshit, funny how the irony becomes completely cyclical....

yeah I would love to see MS back in a car purely because I wear my rose coloured glasses when we are talking anything about michael. BUT I think with 2 years out of F1 he may not be as sharp. I do think he retired a year or two early though, but a come back is perhaps not a good idea. I've never seen it really work for anyone else. think back to AJ... :P

Alot of people went ballistic about the result in Austria in 2002. I don't remember it as being confined to Mclaren fans or any one particular group.

Most of those people who criticised the outcome were either ill informed & quite frankly missed the point. Quite why the FIA caved into all the bullsh!t is beyond me. So now everyone just pretends not to have team orders.

The only question of any validity from that race was quite why Ferrari felt the need to employ team orders whent hey were so far ahead of everyone else.

As for come backs some bloke called Prost did ok. Also Niki Lauda.

As an aside there was an interesting interview with AJ in a recent edition of motorsport magazine. He mentioned that the worst people to work for were team owners who used to be F1 drivers. He nominated Graham Hill as his worst boss as he was always trying to engineer the car without sufficient regard to Jones' input.

Anyway if you want a blow up over team order check the Jones/Williams era....

    • I would not be surprised if you are the only person on earth that has the interest/desire to do that lol.  The Haltech base map is a really good starting point, the car will fire easily and drive very well, even on mild boost levels. To me, following your advice sounds like some sort of ancient Chinese water torcher lol (this is not an insult Josh, never change <3)
    • Those car show concepts from the 2000's and 2010's like the Floria and IDx were brilliant and should've gone ahead, at least one of them. But neither Honda nor Nissan are thinking about affordable performance any more, which is truly sad.  Even if Toyota's liquid hydrogen ICE development reaches the point where it's commercially viable and the infrastructure to support it, Honda/Nissan would have to wait until Toyota allow fee access to their patents to offer it with any smaller performance models they released to take advantage of it.
    • A sporty manual RWD coupe with a IL4 Honda engine would only be a good thing I assume we won't see anything released for a few years though, unless informal talks and designs have been going on for a few years,  and due to the current, and future, emmisions and safety requirements, I assume anything "sporty" they would do would be at least some hybrid thingie And hopefully anything they are thinking of has nice lines, without lots of plastic and fake bits hanging off it like that horrendous FK8 that looked like it was designed by a 13 year old The other issue of course in the current market is cost, currently the type R is around $70k, a twin is around $50k Meh, I'm old and grumpy and would rather buy a older model car and waste my coin on that than buying anything currently available new
