The wing was designed to allow the car behind to maintain its aero effectiveness. Somehow whomever did the wind tunnel/CFD work on them came up with a wing that was tall but narrow. Oh and ghey. Still here is hoping the cars will look like proper racing cars on slicks & with some trackwidth returned to them. It is amazing how quickly you get used to looking at badly proportioned cars.

Oh god! It looks like one of them pikes peak cars or whatever

I love the way current formula one cars look, why couldnt they just add slicks and some minor aero rules instead of all this bs

If lewis loses the championship this time it will never be forgotten.

So who needs to finish ahead of him.. Hmmm, Massa, Kimi, Kube, Nick, Alonso..

Quite possible, as anything is on race day :ninja:

ALL OUT VICTORY!

1st OR IN A WALL! :ninja:

I don't think that's the most important part, I think people will actually be gunning for him. They saw how well it worked 2 races ago when he was spun out in the first lap...

I cant see them putting fuel in him as that will throw him to the back and at the mercy of other drivers and racing.

He is better going light and getting a jump and playing the rabbit, only to worsst case be caught out with a longer ful run in the last stint and droppng a few positions.

I can see a lot of his rivals punting it up the inside of him, showing little respect for him as he will haev to yield as they know he cant really afford to get caught up in any silly business. At the same time i dont think any other driver wants to be remembered as the guy that took Lewis out...but they will all know that he wont defend to hard when up alongside or under brakes into turn 1-3 :(

As much as i would like to see hamilton go out, set pole and win the race im wondering if mclaren will play it a bit safer.

Ie take some rpm from the motor, put him on a longer fuel strat and just get him home as close to massa as possible

thoughts gents?

I think it will be same as usual, if i were lewis i wouldnt want to drop back behind traffic at all if possible.

The helmet camera angle is wonderful :O

If it rains it will be interesting, the paint/zebra strips are essential for fast times and very slippery as practice showed.

And as roy said, I think massa/other drivers have the advantage of knowing that lewis MUST be cautious. Something that lewis has never really done, but i cant wait to see which (or how many) drivers give him a hard time.

yeah, damnit- why can't they hold their race at 7am on sunday morning? sheesh

could well turn out to be the shortest race viewing of the year for me, if Hamo gets taken out in the first couple of corners by some over-zealous asshat

I've taken monday off work for it, but I don't expect I'll be a happy man come post race.

well, you can take some consolation in the fact that the FIA did their level best to help Ferrari to a WCC :D

every F1 season should be like this.

with the advent of KERS and cars more dependant on mechanical rather than aerodynamic grip, '09 is looking like being even more closely run.

08 WDC or not, Hamilton didn't show anything that spectacular imo...how many engine failures did Massa have? I think it was 2, 1 of thos just laps away from a clear victory, Hamilton not in 2nd. Then add in the pit lane incident with the fuel rig, another almost certain victory down the drain.

I'm the first to admit thats racing, but I see it as Ferrari losing the WDC for Massa, and McLaren winning it for Hamilton :)

Of the last 7 WDCs decided at the last round of the season, the points leader into that round has only one once. So the statistics suggest that Massa is a firm possibility :)

I cant remember if it was seven, but something like that. I think MS was the last guy to win going into the last round with a points lead...and we all know what he had to do :)
