Hey, Webbers motivation shoudl be top shelf this year. I mean the 8-10 weeks out of the car willo only focus him and make him eager to get back in the seat. Physically he may miss some conditioning from the off season testing but psychologically i think the break will be great for him.

He will ome back mentally fresh and will have a team mate ready to push him and drive him. Hopefully he is up to the challenge. If so then he will reap the rewards, if not then he will have to be content with knowing that he has had a good run, driven for Williams and has upset the apple kart on accassion

Yeah I know, he was going to have his hands full with Vettel as it was, this is only going to make it THAT much harder... After Webbo, how long till another Aussie driver gets into F1???

They held onto Rubens and Jensen too long, should have got some young blood in there like Torro Rosso did. Had they actually got some results (instead of just being the Minardi of '08) they might have hung around longer.

So a 37 year old guy (over the hill in F1 terms), in shitty conditions, in a shitty car, scoring a stellar podium, isn't enough in your eyes?? 11 Points in what was a mediocre car just doesn't cut the mustard?? I think you are short changing Rubens there, he deserves more credit than he is due, he has always deserved more credit than he has been given. Rubens Barrichello in my eyes would be in my top ten drivers for the 2000's..

Schumi.

Alonso.

Vettel.

Mika.

Hamilton/Kimi/Massa (Can't decide order yet).

Rubens.

Montoya.

DC/Webber (can't decide who takes #10).

Still... GO RUBENS! I HOPE YOU'RE STILL THERE IN 09! STICK IT TO THE MAN!

Oh c'mon that was 1 race, Rubens and Jensen just don't have the fight in them anymore (same goes for Mark Webber) they have been around long enough and simply don't have the car under them to perform.

Honda needed someone like Vettel, hungry to perform and isn't constantly blaming front end grip or balance or tyres blah blah somebody that just puts their foot down and gets on with it regardless of the conditions.

I agree Jenson has lost heart, but I don't think the same is for Rubens..

I agree on Vettel too, after Italy he had me in shock, after Brazil he left me absolutely stunned... He made Hamilton, the new *ahem* 'rainmaster' look like he was driving a Minardi...

I think Button has given up the ghost, but i dont believe Rubens is comfortable just cruising around as he was there to pick up the peces when opportunity knocked. Button was cruising comfortable blaming the car....i dont think its a coincidence that Rubens was quicker this year.

Also, i dont agree that Webber has lost his punch. I believe he is a bit too careful in traffic these days, something that was never the case in his Jaguar and first year at Williams. But the guy had a string of strong points scoring finishes up until British GP where it all stated to go pear shaped for the team

Button gave up the ghost as soon as he joined Honda, how could you seriously live with yourself going from the front row every race with Ferrari to the back row in a Honda and still be motivated to race.

I'd rather see Webber crash out from having a go (like DC always did with his up the inside moves) than just sit comfortable in 10th and let anyone past that hangs off his rear wing.

    • Hey @Butters, did you end up getting this clutch in ? I have just ordered to a uniclutch track to go in my getrag 6 speed that’s in my BNR 32
    • I know you don't want to hear this comment, but I can't not say it.  I just can't see 200kw being worth the time and effort. Its like guys with NA cars, putting in headers/exhaust/tune for a massive 20% jump in power. Great, the slow car is still slow and you're down $10,000.  My vote is leave it NA or price in a gearbox upgrade and shoot for at least 300KW, preferably 350KW+.  Now you have a NC that will try to kill you from time to time and will be exciting to drive
    • Ah yep. The main message I want to pass on is, try not to get scared of ghosts when thinking about knock/knock detection.  What I mean is, healthy engines make noise. Knock is also noise. Your knock sensor and ECU combo are trying to determine bad noise from good noise based on how loud the noise is. The factory knock sensors and ECU are not good at doing this.  Modern ECU's are pretty decent at it, however I'd still say that you would want to verify that if your ECU says it's knock, that you actually listen to it and confirm that it is correct.  Are you familiar with the plex knock monitor?  https://www.plex-tuning.com/products/plex-knock-monitor-v3/ I expect you're the type of person that would be very keen to play with something like this. It is great knock detection and you can pop some headphones on and listen to what's going on.  Knock that you've deliberately induced in low load low RPM areas is not really putting anything at risk and is a great tuning/learning/verification tool.  I just thought this was worth mentioning based on the way you were talking about setting up a base map and the Haltech base map settings. There are better ways to spend your time then chasing ghosts and worrying about detonation in scenarios that it is crazy unlikely to encounter it.  I was also wondering, what ECU are you planning to get? Will it be long til you pick it up?
    • This came quicker than I thought. It ain't even 2025 yet.
    • I somehow quoted my post instead of editing it. I regret nothing.
