How can you say Massa deserves it less? He's driving well enough to be right there in the points until his team cost him an almost certain 10 in Singapore, not to mention never having a chance against MS and then being destroyed by Kimi last year....I think he does deserve it this year even though I think Ferrari pretty much took it away from him with that pit stop.

I don't see why Hamilton deserves anything...He walked into the best car on the grid last year and threw it away, and he's in the best car again this year and isn't ahead by much at all.

Talk of people who "deserve" to win F1 races is nonsense. All of the teams are out there busting their arses to win or to get good finishes as are the overwhelming majority of drivers. What arbitrary measure to you use to work out whether someone deserves a championship sor not?

How many years they have been in the sport?

How hard they worked to get there?

How much natural talent they have?

How much effort they put in?

How well the go under pressure?

A million & one other random & baseless parameters?

Anyway in Singapore (& in a number of other races) the McLaren was by no means the best car.

How can you say Massa deserves it less?

easily, i just did

He's driving well enough to be right there in the points until his team cost him an almost certain 10 in Singapore

his inability to do anything but lead from the front has cost him much more than the ferrari's failure of of a pit stop system in singapore.

Very important point that.

not to mention never having a chance against MS and then being destroyed by Kimi last year

lol... did even think about that before you wrote it?

he wasnt given a chance against schumi because he wasnt good enough to challenge

and then "destroyed by Kimi"? so... thats acctully not helping your argument

I think he does deserve it this year even though I think Ferrari pretty much took it away from him with that pit stop.

not the fact that he failed to increase his position at monza?

or DNF'd in malaysia through his own stupidity?

Silverstone?

his failure to overtake MUCH slower cars in canada despite his enourmous stright line advantage?

his dismal and embarrassing performance in germany?

being shaded quite badly by his team mate and hammo despite having clearly the best car?

I don't see why Hamilton deserves anything...He walked into the best car on the grid last year and threw it away, and he's in the best car again this year and isn't ahead by much at all.

He walked in nowhere. He worked hard for that spot and more then a few big wigs thought he was deserving of a chance. You dont give top drives to shit kickers. His performance for a rookie last year was brilliant, and he much more consistant than most if not all of the grid.

Massa did nothing more than fill a void in a ferrari seat and driven well enough to be retained as team puppet for two real world champs. And when Alonso joins the team, he'll be back in his box faster than you could ever imagine.

his inability to do anything but lead from the front has cost him much more than the ferrari's failure of of a pit stop system in singapore.

and how did he get to the front enough times to only lead from the front as you put it, to be within 7 points of the almighty Hamilton?

lol... did even think about that before you wrote it?

he wasnt given a chance against schumi because he wasnt good enough to challenge

and then "destroyed by Kimi"? so... thats acctully not helping your argument

my point was that he's been a number 2 for x years, and this year has done well enough to be 20 points ahead of KR...

You dont give top drives to shit kickers.

So whats Kovaleinen doing there?

i decide who desrerves it purely based on who I like or dislike.

for the record I like:

webber

kimi

sato

kubica

schuey

DC

rubes is ok

dont like

hamilton

kovalinen

trulli

vettel (purely because he fked webbers japan race last year, I can't forgive or forget. lol)

heidfeld (dunno why, just don't)

I have a few guys that could go either way in my like/dislike list. like alonso.

1. Massa SHOULD be the companionship winner this year BUT most likely wont be

2. Hamilton SHOULD leave the sport for being an arrogant prick BUT will win this season and probably others

3. Webber SHOULD have being on the podium many times by now, he is very skilled, BUT win never get there due to his unbelievable bad luck.

So whats Kovaleinen doing there?

LMAO

It kinda pissed me off that Hamilton walked straight into the fastest car on the grid. He is undoubtedly a fast driver, but why is it that he, and not someone else that has worked hard in a slower car, gets the nod for the drive in a mclaren?

I'm just one eyed tho :( Webber should have got it! lol

Can't say I don't like Heidfeld, I just wish he had more presence... Also, I can't see why you dislike Trulli... He's a good racer, just a bit volatile/eratic... Like any Italian driver really (Fisichella, Alesi (Franco Sicilian), Alboreto, Larini, Nannini ect ect)...

I'm a big Mika fan, big DC fan, Kimi fan... Also a huge Alesi fan..

I dislike Sato because he wasn't worthy of Alesi's seat at Jordan in 2002, I blame him for sending poor Eddie Jordan broke, he crashed out sooo many times, Alesi would've done much more with that seat.. I'm also not huge on Kovalinen, he's just a wet mop, a lacky to play second fiddle for Hamilton.. At least Barrichello was, on most occasions, there when Schumi couldn't.. Rubens also had huge likeable quantities of personality, Heikki has none... However, unlike Kimi, Heikki isn't lairy, hence, boring.. Erm... I liked Berger, in fact, I loveed Berger... I like Panis and Wurz, I thought that both of them were VERY underrated... Villenuve was a bit of a twit, huge ego ang couldn't live up to his name, couldn't get back into it after his crappy 1998 season.... Huge Verstappen fan, thought he and De La Rosa were both quite underrated.. I also liked Mc Nish and Da Matta, I think F1 is a lot less with many of these names prematurely departing F1 (Not in the case of Schuey or DC though! :()..

pilot the fastest car on the frid with light fuel? dont you watch these races or something

he seems to be one of the first guys to pit every race, even if its by a lap, it seems always to be early. look throught the pit stop summarys on formula1.com

my point was that he's been a number 2 for x years, and this year has done well enough to be 20 points ahead of KR...

the reverse is acctually true, its kimi thats done so badly to be 20 points behind. Not scoring at months at a time, his bad luck seems to have come back with a vengence

So whats Kovaleinen doing there?

what the hell does heikki have to do with hammo's seat or ability?

Noone seems to be giving Lewis any credit... Yes he walked into the fastest car last year and threw the championship away, but all great racers have instances like this in there career...

"He's a quality driver, very strong and only 16. If he keeps this up I'm sure he will reach F1. It's something special to see a kid of his age out on the circuit. He's clearly got the right racing mentality." Michael Schumacher, speaking about Hamilton in 2001..

He was the youngest driver to ever lead the F1 championship, At his home race at Silverstone Hamilton impressed by overtaking two rivals at Becketts, a series of high-speed (up to 240 kph+ in a GP2 car) bends where overtaking is rare.

He is a fantastic person to have in the sport...

.

Are you trying to tell me his McLaren is a different car to the one Hamilton's driving?

Heikki is the massa of mclaren, he ticks enough of the right boxes to get the seat. Given half the chance of a better alternative, they'll both get given the boot by their teams

Neither of them should be driving their respective cars, especially when theres guys like Kubica, Alonso and Rosberg looking to get the cars their skills deserve

Im coming around to hammo because he's proven he clearly deseves his seat because of his results and his attitude and passion for the sport. The fact that he's big mouth has no bearing on his ability.

Let's not forget Massa's blown engine a few laps from Victory, that 10 points could have changed the way the WDC standings look at the moment...

could have, should have, would have... shit happens, and it happens to everyone

unfortunately its his teams fault for ironically pushing their so called reliability upgrades

its khama at its best i like to think
