Yeh, i think Webber has been so desperate for points and results he now drives pretty conservative, unlike when he first arrived at the door of Williams. I think he was overly aggressive at Williams, now a tad too careful at RBR. Hopefully he will come alive with a quick team mate. He showed in Japan with Massa that he doesnt like losing his lazy point, even to the Ferrari that was way quicker. The dog still has some bite

Webber will get his ass spanked by Vettel without a doubt. As said above Webber is content on just finishing races then blaming the poor performance or bad strategy and with DC nowhere to be seen (back of the field) nobody could say otherwise.

Next year with Vettel showing the true pace of whatever RBR has to offer, Webber will have to lift his game or his career will be the same as Button's (only has a seat because he is well known, not because he is fast).

a bit harsh ben.

both vettel & bourdais were going nowhere on the grid early on......webber was handing it to them week in week out until the TR started working better. both SB and SV moved up the grid at this point.

yeah I think ben is a tad bitter. don't forget webbers mighty jaw is practically burting with talent. there is no doubt in my mind he is well inside the top half of the grid pace wise. and in fact he qualifies up there even in the rubbish cars he's had over the years (jag front row anyone....?). he may be a bit down and lacking a bit of motovation right now, but there is always a chance that a young fast team mate will light his fire again and get him pushing hard for results again.

sure it was an odd race but I will never forget him driving his minardi to 5th place in melbourne 2002. I was there to see it and even now i almost get a bit teary just thinking about what an effort that was. when he came and stood outside his pit garage with the aussie flag after the race you would have been able to hear the fans standing around there from the moon!

Webber with Vettel, bloody brilliant pairing, now we will see how good RBR really is. Not that we don't know already in 2008 they have been shit, despite the Webber knockers ignoring Coulthard's results as an indicator.

I'm not bitter at all, Webber + RBR just fail to capitalise on races where some of the top runners have problems (penalty, retirements or wet weather) when he should be claiming a 5th or 6th, not battling for 8th or 9th like he does every other week.

Next year we will see if Vettel was fast only because of the Ferrari TR or if he genuinely has pace which will also allow us to see if Webber is being held back by RBR or if RBR is being held back by Webber.

also, my biggest dissapointment of the race was that coulthard didn't get to finish and rip up some heli's! his interview was great. He said "mainly I'm just bummed that I didn't finished as I had planned some massive burnouts. we get fined for it but I figured since it's my last race I'd go out in style". nice work DC. bringing doughnuts to the people. so lame these days that the winner doesn't get any victory doughnuts (except in camp car and nascar).
