Yup I watch the qual on the itv link coz I can't be bothered waited for Ch10's cut version at midnight but the race I watch delayed on ch10 (arghhhh ch10 commentators piss off!!).

Easy work by Kimi and was in control the entire race, Massa had a brain fart.

Bad luck for Hamilton with the pitstop, think he should have used 2x hard and 1x soft tyres instead of the other way around which certainly cost him 3rd place.

Webber did well to hold up Hamilton for as long as he could, still wasnt fast enough for anything better than 7th though which is disappointing considering Hamilton was behind him for more than half the race and Massa went out early. Should have been a solid 5th with DC in the points as well.

didnt blame jihad directly, more higher powers looking after their shocking start to the season

so 2 non Ferrari drivers lodging complaints with the FIA which launched the investigation which resulted in the 5 position penalty on McLaren, is higher powers looking after Ferrari? Well done Einstein

Excellent race by Kimi. Get your shit together Massa.

good race!

good to see Ferrari where they belong up front smashing the field :) Massa come on get it together you have the skill to fight for the championship just hold it together.

GOO BMW, they smash McLaren which is awesome to see.

and how about ITV just f**ks off :@ im serious starting to get pissed off with the fact all they do is talk about Hamilton and just go on and on and on :@

ohh good to see Hamilton can't drive anywhere near as good as Kimi when he isn't at the front lol! shows his true skill lol

I like how his wheel cover got stuck on then off the car and when he returned to the track it was webber that was ruining his run (and yes he was a lot aster than webber once he passed him). If Hanny was so much faster i can't see why he didn't try to overtake him!

Bring on the BBC hopefully its not so biased

GO BMW :):(:merli: most consistent team so far in 08

Nice dominating run by Kimi, great race...

Faux Pas by Massa cost him an 'in the bag' second position...

If he keeps going like this, he won't be at Ferrari much longer...

Nice work by Mark to keep Louise honest, McLarens were much faster but he held his possie well...

Shame Heidfeld couldn't make an impression on Louise whilst he was trailing Webber, Kubica showed that the BMW's were somewhat faster than the Macs... Good race from Gonzo to snatch a point at the end by running heavy...

poor strategy (webber came out right into traffic) and lack of pace on the softs cost webber some decent places.

funny that if bloody hamilton is so fast then why didn't he pass webber or even attempt a pass in those 30odd laps he was behind him for? I would really hope if it were webber in the big mac and hamilton in the red bull that webber would be able to put a move on.

and nice one kubica!

No, youre all wrong.

Its not traction related at all. Its not Mechanical grip. Its Aerodynamic.

Its simply a matter of following the car in dirty air. The flow of air around the following car is much more turbulent. Raikkonen even mentioned it in the press conference. Geez, werent any of you people listening? Hamstrings was fast as, you just have to look at the fastest laps of the race. Hamilton was only 7 hundredths slower than Raikkonen.

As mentioned above Hamilton had bugger all traction, his strategy is what killed him (well apart from the pitstop problem) running Soft-Soft-Hard instead of what Webber did Hard-Hard-Soft.

Yes. That was plain dumb. Obviously the Prime was the tyre to have. Why Hamstrings chose to do 2 stints on the option is beyond me. :):D

Webber was taking a later apex than hamo, which allowed webber to get on the gas earlier and have the car straighter, hence the better drive out of the corners.

Yeah their lines were completely different, Webber was driving defensively at times - 2 whole seconds a lap slower is enough to give you an idea how defensively.

Hamilton could not get a clean enough tow onto both the back straight as well as the front into turn one such was the wash of turbulence around the car.

I really believe the aero grip needs to reduced before we can ever see wheel to wheel racing again. having said that, 3 abreast down the back straight was awesome - DC and gonzo having a drag race and Pikey truping them both with a slice down the outside. Outstanding.

lol

oh and +1 for Massa for yet again, continuing to display his now devastatingly obvious lack of skill at turning the wheel of one of these cars...

hey- maybe he just spent the night before watching Initial D vids and thought he'd have a crack at this drifting lark :)

"no traction control...oh SHI-"

Raikkonen may well win the drivers championship again (who knows), but if Hamilton and Kovalainen can keep finishing races every weekend (like Massa seems incapable of), then hello McLaren constructors championship toocool.gif

hence the move from front and rear wing based aero to centre-of-body ground effect aero in the future

and anyone that wants to bag Hamilton's inability to pass Webber should remember Raikkonens efforts to move up through the field the previous weekend (and the two unforced errors that resulted, lol)

    • Can we see a scan of the original quote? The problem with engineers (and by this, I mean, all engineers across all engineering industries) is that there are "engineers" and there are "engineers" (you'll have to imagine the two different vocal emphases on those two versions of the same word. Engineering is a mindset - your farm kid who spent his life rebuilding the tractor will likely make a good engineer. The farm kid who spent his life taking photos of butterflies.. perhaps not. But on top of that mindset, the modern engineer has to learn how to write so that there is absolutely no way of being misunderstood. Proposals/budget estimates/quotations are one place where this is absolutely vital. You have to delineate your scope of supply with extremely hard boundaries, and anywhere where there is any possibility of not being able to have such a hard boundary, you need to write language that will cover you from scope creep, cost overruns, the inevitable interference of the client or their "engineer", etc etc. Now, if your clients are the BHPs and the Rio Tintos of the world, and similar, then you get good at this. If you are an automotive engineer, pitching work to the great unwashed masses, your skills in this area might not be well developed, because you're only dealing with knuckle draggers trying to get a big block legal in a Torana. And when I say "might not"....I'd suggest there's a better than even chance that any such skills might be completely absent. So, we might be able to look at your quote and see what the opportunities are for rebuttal.
    • It’s an rb25 so a gtst and I’ll get that valve
    • Thank you for this my turbo doesn’t have the nipple so I’ll get one installed in the turbo to Intercooler piping. I’ll get everything I need and locate it all using the information you both gave and get back with an update.
    • Please do not connect it to your manifold. If you do, as GTS suggested please record the lot in 4K with good mics attached.   On the factory Skyline, there's a upside down pipe that allows it to breathe, looks like this
    • For me I'd need some serious justification for why it has blown out.  Have you questioned him on it?  To be honest if you didn't question him right from the get-go on the first invoice that was already way over the initial quote and then you've (presumably) then paid another $1375 on top of the first invoice, then you're pushing shit uphill to get a favourable result now... It was years ago I last got an engineer out but it was around $450-$550 per visit.  That was just to inspect each progress point he gave me for the project.  Is he just doing progress inspections or is he providing engineering diagrams, technical assistance, etc??  If he's not, he's a filthy rip off merchant.  If the $3100 is the final sign off then you need to cop it on the chin, pay it and move on.  If it's not, piss him off and get a new one.  Not many Jeeps I'd value at $10K full stop let alone just engineering fees on a written off, half actual value WOVR Jeep....
