ROFL :) He did try and puch Irvines light out after Japan! Does that count? :)

I never reallyt liked Irvine, he was a good driver because the Britush press needed a good F1 driver. But i loved the guy off the track. How about " What a start to my Grand Prix career. I got punched by Senna in my first race, crashed in my second, destroyed four cars in my third and got banned from my fourth. People are going to think I'm some kind of nutter." :D

Irv the Perve.

He was the gigolo of the F1 circus. I remember reading somewhere that he thought horses were hung like him.

If Hamfist wants to be Senna esque he has to start punching lights out, lol.

ROFL! Yeah, the writing was on the wall there mate... A porka and the Mac binned in the same week.

Dadas put the mocker on him,....maybe brainfade does run in the family after all.

so it occured to me this morning

why is Hamilton being punished for accidently running into the back of a competitor, and there was no punishment for kimi for what seemed to be just as stupid an accident?

Simple.

FIA - Ferrari Intervention Assistance.

Plus he wasnt doing 200mph... ( how f**king dumb was raikonnens comment? )

That is all.

Dont start on the Kimi / Monaco no penalty thing. One incident was under green flags and race conditions. The other was under a pace car and a closed pit lane exit. NO FARKING SIMILARITIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Uh, Uh , i think its valid.

So...its okay if its a green light and at 200mph possibly causing a fatality but daft and amateurish at the end of the pitlane?

Roy, call a spade a spade. Raikkonen did more than nearly cause a fatality- he destoryed F.I's chance to get a massive pile of cash for their troubles.

And he shrugged his shoulders and said oh well, thats racing.

The bullshit about FI not being given points because Sutil passed under Yellows is just the Ferrari bullshitspinners attempting to downplay the situation.

How is this any different>

*waits for Roy to go Nuclear*

Not nuclear. :D Seeing things differently is fine. You are looking at is like a concerned mother though, "...poor FI" Not objectively as a motorsport fan. :)

A mistake at speed in slick conditions under green race conditions, unfortunate and sad as it may be, is motorsport. To hit another car waiting at pit exit with another car, in clear dry conditions when the pace car is on the track is not on. I cant believe you dont see this.

It isnt about a Sutil being robbed of points, or Kimi beign robbed of points by Lewis. Its about regulations, and what Lewis did is unfortunate and only required a momentary lapse in concentration, but what he and Rosberg did is in my eyes undefendable. Rosberg is even worse as there was already 3 cars stopped, near stopped and he hit Lewis!!!!!!!!

And i have never raced a car, but help with servicing of cars and helped a guy run at the state level, and i am sure i am not the only one who sees what happened as about the worst thing a driver can do.

Pit lane has a whole lot of special conditions, it is speed limited and controlled as there are pit teams, equipment, media etc etc. Cars and ppl dont go well together.

LOL, and i cant let you slide with the nearly causing a fatality thing. That is laughable. Nobody was hurt in the accident, any accident can kill a driver. Motorsport is dangerous and there are flags and controls to try and minimise that risk. So under race conditions it is acceptable (but still unfortunate, but inevitable) that accidents will happen. Under safety cars and in pit lanes its a NO NO! It cant be accepted by the powers to be. Never has been acceptable, and never will be. Hell, lets just start disobeying yellow flags next, as Duncan touched on the lack of respect for the yellow is enough of a concern and something the FIA should try and reigh in. Pit lane is holy ground, you dont miss lights, dismiss warnings on the pit radio to check the pit lane exit light and you dont hit cars!

Correct me if im wrong, but wasnt the accident in Monaco under the safety car?

Heres the rub Roy.

Hamfists accident was just that - Stupid.

Raikkonnen on the other hand was downright dangerous.

And he walked away without even so much as a slap on the wrist.

no

first lap after they were released

I still think Raikkonen should have been penalised as well. Its not even arguable in my eyes, pits being holy ground or not.

As you saw, KR parked ALONG side Kubica. Thats poor form before the accident. They were having a squabble over track position but ended up side by side at the pit lane exit.

Raikkonen should have pulled in behind Kubica - simple as that.

To be fair, Hammos brainfade is a little less serious when you look at it from this perspective.

Raikkonen should not have been where he was in the first place.

It is such a conspiracy that a Ferrari driver was excluded from the results last year for running the light. Hamilton not only crossed the line under red he belted another car up the keifer and pushed a stationay car accross the line to boot!

Why is this even being discussed?

umm, this is an F1 thread, is it not?

Dont start on the Kimi / Monaco no penalty thing. One incident was under green flags and race conditions in the wet at speed. The other was under a pace car and a closed pit lane exit. In perfect visibility and the dry !

Ah Brisby...You save so much of my time with your posts :D

Racing 750hp, 600kg cars in the wet is downright dangerous. It's called motor sport princess.

Yeah, If Raikkonen pulled in behind Kubica, your mate Hamilton more than likely would've taken them both out. If he can't see 2 flashing red lights and 2 cars PARKED side by side waiting for them to go green, what chance does he have of seeing 2 flashing red lights and the rear end of only 1 car parked in front of him...

Yes, all very valid points. Dont forget that Dennis said on the radio "watch the lights on exit" Just one of those things. Driers have to absorb and process so much information. Sometimes they miss the obvious.

Whitmarsh's comments were a bit disappointing. Thought it was a bit petty that he came out and hinted that its open season on McLaren and penalty time. LOL, has he forgetten there is a Williams in the judgement as well? At least Dennis said, bugger its one of those things.

Heres the rub Roy.

funnily enough, at that race, I think Kimi was trying to play it safe and break a bit earlier so not to runn into the back of Sutil but unfortunately, the braking point was on a wet patch on a corner. At least thats what I read from majority of the websites.

    • And that's a massive problem, because deadshits will deadshit and give you false details. At least in these days of mobile cameraphones, it is trivial to take photos of any ID they are carrying at the same time as the 300 photo extensive documentation of the state of the vehicles that I recommend even for minor incidents. And you get photos of the person's face, any visible tatoos, etc etc, while you're at it. Then you try to avoid mentioning that you're fully capable of making explosives of various power levels and will wreck their shit if you are forced to hunt them down.
    • No, I don't remember the exact reasoning (was 20 years ago!) but the cops didn't end up supplying it to us either. Actually my mother went through a similar thing recently where she was hit when stationary, flustered and didn't get address (she got plate details, name, phone and insurance company, but not address). Person who hit her blocked her number and their insurance company (naturally) would not provide any details. Her insurance company also required her to pay the at fault premium because she did not have the address, cops did not help as it is a minor civil matter (they said their only course was if the other driver had left the scene of the accident without providing any details). She only ended up getting that refunded because they happened to be insured with Suncorp and she was with APIA so same company owners. For some reason the address is critical in insurance companies recovering money from the at fault party
    • If you're driving something like an R32 through to R34, no chance of meeting Euro4. Euro4 came out in 2006, and car manufacturers back then were complaining how hard it would be to meet those regulations. Not a chance a vehicle 10 years earlier is going to be compliant.
    • I presume it would take more than just slapping a big modern catalyst on the exhaust? It's interesting though, looking at the old sales brochures and listings it does not mention anything about emissions. No one cared.
    • Yeh nice, looks like their part of keep it reet? Will have to swing past. I'd much prefer someone actually look at my car and custom make a part, then get a generic part online and hope it works.
