Does this mean courts are now going to be flooded with car enthusiasts, right alongside drug dealers, rapists and the likes ??

Soon they'll probably start throwing car enthusiasts in cells, and we'll all have convictions under our name stating; " unenclosed pod".

As exnizmech stated, a move like this would inevitably back up the courts, with magistrates wasting valuable time listening to cases about questionable mods.

I just moved from Sydney to the Gold Coast 4 weeks ago, and I'm still anticipating my first run in with the local constabulary.....

Although I am hoping that the QLD officers are more "friendlier" than their counterparts from South-West Sydney.

oh great, the day i get my opens i find this out. so whats the go with losing the points? you have to go to court and then admit to having a defective car? would the judge make up their own price or would it be the set $75 per defect? What a f**kn waste of time and resources.

mmm i thought we had it bad in WA, so far the price of yellow stikers "defects" have just over dubbled this year. so its 87bux for the 1st inspection and 38 for the next two.

the guys are beeing much more strict and picking on things that they never use too as well.. seems like we are criminals

i just bought an import r34 and cant get rwc couse of me aftermarket steering wheel. have to wait for original one with airbag change it and than pray they wont find anything else..

Yeah, good reason for that too. Airbags are proven to save lifes, and they are very effective in doing so. Id want the thing on there.

Either way is any of this confirmed by either DOT or Qld Police?

i dont know but theres no workshop in qld which give me rwc with momo steering wheel, so i guess that must be true. wherever i called and ask there was only one asnwer......"sorry it illeagal you have to change it if you want rwc"

i do rwc (as i have a licence)

and if the vehicle comes out with a airbag from factory IT CANT BE REMOVED if the vehicle is being driven on the street

but saas do sports steering wheels with airbags and adr approved

Just my blow off valve. Turbosmart vee port stealth series now for sale if anyones after one :D My stocko one is going back on. Once they saw that they stopped looking and moved onto the next car. The only other defect i'd pick up is for ride height and the brake light on my wing.

It was rather funny though. The first cop that came to my car to have a look had no friggin idea. He's like "Uh, does it have a blow off valve" I said nothing and he looked around. "Is that a blow off valve?" I said nothing again. He looked at it for a while longer, "is it plumb back?" Still saying nothing and another cop walked over, pointed a light at it and looked at it for near 1min before saying "I think isn't". Moments later I had 5 cops standing infront of my engine bay discussing if it was plumb back or not. They asked me to rev it so I rev'd it to 2,000 rpm and nothing happened lol :) and then they had another little think about it before asking me to rev it higher so I did to 3,000 and just got a bit of flutter going back through the turbo and they were like "ahh its venting to the atmosphere" and I was just in a shitty mood so felt like being an ass and started a debate with the guy telling him it wasnt venting to the atmosphere(which it wasnt at that low rpm/boost). Then I tried just being clueless about it all  because 4 of them had gone and I was left with the clueless guy again. He then told me they didn't care if I took it off or not and that I probably wouldnt get done for it unless I show up to meets like the one we were at, lol. It's great how they can hand out a defect for something they clearly know sod all about.

you were on your way to your Grannys to have dinner with her before she passes...

lol. Yes I just took a wrong turn and ended up in an industrial estate with 100 other cars

They did ask if there was an emergency reason for me driving. The only thing I could think of was 'give me a few mins and ill come up with a good story'

emergency

i would have told the cop (unless u have a restricted licence) its a free country i can drive down this road if i like

geese i wonder how i would go with the cops if i went out on a fri or sat night

see the funny thing is a atmo bov is not a rwc item (go figure that 1)

    • They see me rollin' they hatin'....... Took me most of the day to make the necessary mods to the mounts to make them fit the car.  Fortunately I was able to just use the mounts that came with the rotisserie. The rear ones are really secure, the front I feel i might reinforce a bit more as it doesn't seem like enough attachment to the vehicle. I'm sure it's fine but better to be safe than (extremely...) sorry.  I drilled and tapped thread into additional M12 holes to each car mount where it attaches to the rotisserie as an extra fail-safe. Without them the side to side movement is just restricted by the allen head pinch bolts, nothing actually goes though the beam. Does now! I still need to adjust the rotisserie to get the car centred in terms of centre of gravity. If it's too high or too low relative to the rotational centre line of the car, it will be like a turtle and roll onto its back or as it currently sits, I dont think I'd be able to rotate it as it sits as it needs to lift the whole car up as it rotates. Ain't happening... I'm going to be nervous as hell the first time I go to spin it on its side...
    • Oh yes done this when the window started flopping around.  Turns out the guides that run along the rail chanel had crumbed way. Took off the door card and pulled out the window mech, then the window, which you have to pull out through the top. As said unbolt the guide rail and don't spend 30 minutes getting frustrated trying to find a way to slide it out upwards cause that don't frigging work. Drop it down and out through the door hole. All I did to repair it was slice some 10mm clear plastic tube, vertically, then screw it to the guide rail both sides. This tubing rolls inward on both sides and leaves a gap wide enough to hold the window. To finish all I did was lube the plastic tube with olive oil and Bob's your uncle . . . well if he has the operation he can be your Aunt ! !  10 bucks in plastic tube and another 5 minute job done again . . . . YEH BULLSH#T ! My love for Skylines knows no bounds !
    • So was there a solution to this problem? I’m having this issue now.
    • not expensive, just irreplaceable if you don't go sub 60 at wakie in that thing people will start talking
    • I haven't replaced that, but I have had the doors apart on the r32 a couple of times The door skin will be held on by a combination of clips and bolts, just take it slowly and make sure all the sneaky hidden bolts are out Once the skin is off you should be able to pop that piece off pretty easily, looks like there are only 2 bolts holding it on
