What's Going On With My Turbo, Is It Gonna Die?

Recommended Posts

I was changing the plugs the other day and when i removed the intake pipe from the intercooler to the inlet manifold it had engine oil all around the side like the oil had been atomised and carried through with the compressed air from the turbo...

it's a stock as a rock rb25, factory turbo, done about 85000k's and it's hasnt been using oil...?

is this normal or is my turbo about to let go?

i figure the bush's are gonna have a bit of wear in them by now which would allow a bit of oil past, right?

Try pulling the inlet pipe off the turbo, and see of there is oil in the intake pipe b4 the turbo, could just be a bit of blowby, and you can check the turbo out for play whilst its off.

blowby you say, i hadn't thought of that... thanks!
