Hey Guys,

So just got some new tyres fitted and apparently i have a bent K frame :yes:

Was not exactly sure what it was and still am not 100% sure apart from it perhaps causing some stability issues around corners etc??

So anyway apparently its actually slightly twisted not bent, so what does this exactly mean is there another more common name for the K-frame part and any ideas how much im looking at to get it fixed/replaced? Should i be panicking is this fairly major? I have not really had any knocks and have been driving it for a while so im inclined to beleive it has been there since day one but not really sure. Any advice would be much appreciated.

may fitters are newbs.... so are they talking about front or rear? rear cradles are notorious for bending after hitting gutters front K-frames are rarely damaged... they can however move slighlty and need re-alinging

      As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.

      Not sure yet.  Was considering speedtek because it was rated to 800hp, but when I did some research about him I don't think I will go for that馃ぃ So maybe giken gear set, but I'm afraid it won't be strong enough馃檮

      Its also worth mentioning that 30 years after it left the factory and god knows how many missed oil changes since, there is every possibility that one or more lifters are ticking because they are sticky/gummed up. To resolve that you need to pull the cams then pull each lifter, disassemble, clean, reassemble, soak in oil and re-install, and they should come up good as new.
