Did this to mobile road side displays 3 years ago... gets a bit lame after the first few times having a laugh for a while. They change the access codes if you leave some stupid message up there. Some of them only require physical access (left unlocked, or break the lock) but they lock them all now.

The cool shit these days is getting on to the wireless traffic control network n poking around

yeah those stand alone units are a bit old hat. all you need is a crowbar, serial cable and a telnet client.
