hey i dont know what the problem is since my tyres are toyo and they have all the tread on ^^ im kinda noob when it comes to cars, but yeah when its been raining for ages and im not speeding or any thing going about from 60-100kms on the highway/road i get this wierd thing when i go through some water or any thign where my R33 series 2 1998 ( not AWD ) just seems to want to turn into a wall or something, im gonna go get this checked out but in my old car never had this prob,. any one els have it?

I would say that you are hitting deeper water on one side than the other which will make the car want to pull on the deeper water side which could be magnified by your wheel alignment sitting at a very neutral position (no infleunce of toe)

When one wheel hits water, and the other is still on "dry" road, the wheel in water has an increased drag, causing that side of the car to slow down, and the car turns in that direction.

Perfectly normal behaviour.

Simple solution - avoid the puddle.

(This should have been taught - maybe not demonstrated, but at least taught - at "learner" stage.)

i think i figured it out,

you know when theres been road work, and some dick has driven through the

wet tar and left tyre marks through it, well i think its when ever i hit

the messd up tar when its been pissing down, that or i need a wheel alighnment,

=S and the puddles arnt deep and its when im driving strait and not turning

lol

There are so many different reasons for what is happening but one of them could be:

Just because your tyres are a good brand and they have tread doesnt instantly mean that they are great in the wet... A lot of directional and some non directional tyres cant evacuate water from the tread face quick enough in heavy rain (especially when you drive through a puddle) so your probably just experiencing loss of traction from the tyres with the most water in the tread which will cause a "pull" in the steering or a very uneasy "sloppy" steering feel.

What you experienced is called aqua planing. This is where a cushion of water builds up under the tyre because the tyre can't get rid of the water fast enough. When it happened to me i felt the whole car rise slightly of the ground, made me nearly shit myself the first time.

Just remember if it happens DO NOT apply the brakes, this will on aggravate the problem.
