Reset Ecu With Immobiliser

Hi everyone

Can someone please tell me how to reset my ecu? I have an immobiliser and everytime i disconnect the battery the alarm screams. Then i re-connect the battery and silence. Ive been told to leave battery disconnected overnight. Please help!

Doesnt have to be disconnected overnight, 10 secs will do.

should be unless its an autowatch. if that is the case disarm it then disconnect the battery.

Thanks for quick response guys. It (immobiliser) is aself arming BITCH of a thing, good for thieves, bad for working on electronics. Anyroad, should be ok, i'll try the above suggestions. I'm planning a few maintanence projects soon.
