Rb25 Rocker Covers

i have taken the rocker covers off my rb25 to be painted and had them cleaned up (using petrol i think) to remove the grime and crap to prepare for painting. The outside has come up pretty good but the problem is that while the dirty oil on the inside had been cleaned out it has left an orangey dusty (sort of rust like) film all through the inside... dont really want to leave it there when i put them back on..

Any suggestions as to how to clean/get rid of it???

You don't paint the inside of them anyways so shouldn't matter... but maybe try some prepsole

i wouldnt be too worried, its probably just stained the metal. i did mine recently and it left the metal a funny colour too, i just bolted em back on. unless its like all gritty, then maybe scrub it off with a solvent.

Nothing to worry about mate...

and they are only going to get covered in oil the first time that you fire it up anyway

hit it with a can of carby cleaner/degreaser

As above or make a mix of kero and metho in equal parts and just slosh that around in them then blow them out with compressed air.
