Burnout To Warm Up Tyres

hey guys getting ready to take my car to the drags soon,ive never really dropped my car on the brake before so i did it last night and my car dusnt like it much, it wouldnt do a smooth burnout like my r33 did,it just shook the shit out of my gear box and diff,is there any thing i can do to stop this????,

yeh depends, do u have the stock suspension? if not you should change so some stiffer IRS stabilizers? drift pinaples, i had the same problem with my ss so i changed to some pedders IRS rubbers, also some stiffer suspension will help, if you already have this maybe it is just a case off letting the clutch go at a diffrent rpm range

theres a rubber stabilizer where the diff mounts to the body if that is perished it will probally be cause the diff to bounce a round, so is it everytime you do a burnout it happens when u first put it on the brake?

yeh its happens when i hit the brake so my car wont move foward,,its fine when i just drop it with no brake and drift of the mark,

how hard are you hitting the break?

do you heal toe or use both your feet?

what kind of road are you trying it on?

what tyres do you have?

try dropping the clutch at different rpms

then again your clutch could be slipping or something might be loose on your drivetrain?

could be a number of things.. what car do you have btw?

i meant it dusnt do it when i just spin the wheels tryn to launch of the spot,it just wont let me sit on the brake smoothly with out bouncing around and making a banging noise,

r32 dude,i heel-toe,i know how to do a burnout,something just dusnt feel quite right,

gonna try my stockies on the rear as i have 18inch koning rims and they are extremely heavy they also have very grippy tyres on them,

yeh its when i make it sit on the spot spinning the wheels, its more the diff that bounces around than the gearbox,gonna put it on a hoist sum time during the week and have a better look,cheers,

shit just found both rear studs broken on my left rear coilover,shit lucky it stayd in there,,dam bodgy old bilsteins,,,,,,

the two studs at the top are broken,clean sheared off,not sure whether to get them fixd or buy new coilovers,probly get new ones,

that's what i was going to suggest, mine used to do it like crazy, although mine had solid aluminium subframe bushes that made it worse.

the two studs at the top are broken,clean sheared off,not sure whether to get them fixd or buy new coilovers,probly get new ones,

lucky you discovered it before it was too late...

if it's anything like most coilovers, its just two studs pushed into the top hat, so you should be able to replace them cheaply.

my old car never had a problem grabbing 2nd

sometimes with a crappy dump of the clutch it shook the whole dash etc, but more revs solved that.

get up on high revs and then play with it on the brake. should be smooth when your stabbing the gas while on the brake, leaving a nice set of strips up some road

I'd be interested whether that was the cause of the axle tramp, or if the axle tramp snapped the studs..
