R34 Gtr N1's - With Fairly Stock Rb26dett Engine...will This Be Okay?

Recommended Posts

If the front pipes fit the stock dumps i'd say you will be right! xforce ones are copys of hks dumps.

this guy from nz is clearly the cheepest you'd find them! and i beleive he's nz's distributor for xforce!

I was told that the exhaust would fit standard dumps but im not 100% certain, if anyone knows those measurements i would like to know

Cheers

Hey, what are the supporting mods needed for the car with the n1 turbos?, and what sort of 1/4 miles time would i be seeing, my goal is for a high 11 street car......

thanks:)

With about 410whp (and shagged n1 turbos atleast half of both front wheels were chewed up) mine did an 11.4

you keep asking the same questions over and over.

1.) will the stock dump pipes fit the R34 N1's. - YES. BUT it is suggested that you get aftermarket ones while you are swapping as puting aftermarket dump pipes later will require you to remove the turbo's again which means more labour, which means more money.

2.) will 550cc injectors give me about 300rwkw - one guy aboe your post said he had 314kw using those turbo's and those injectors.

3.) what supporting mods - been told 550cc injectors and appropriate fuel pump, ecu and tuning.

4.) will it be reliable - you have forged pistons etc. if you have the fueling and tuning right, then yes, like a few people have said, up to 20psi would be doable. will give you your 300rwkw, be reliable, and run 11's.

Hey,

I am running R34 N1s with the following mods:

-New stock motor

-Trust 4" turbo back exhaust

-Apexi pods

-HKS drag intercooler

-Sard 800cc injectors

-Greddy adjustable cam gears

-Apexi Power FC tuned by Ben @ Racepace

Puts out 322.8awkw on 20psi and according to Ben at Racepace, is a "safe" tune

So if your motor is in good nick and you get it tuned right you should have no problems running near the 300awkw mark. You'll notice there is a lot of emphasis on having the correct tune

Good luck with your upgrade, R34 N1s are definitely nice turbos for the street.

Cheers!

to r31 gagz, were you running stock or aftermarket dumps?, and are adj cam gears more worthwhile than cams?i want close to what you have on a safe tune...oh and were you using power fc d-jetro, or just normal? we got a good tuner here, and im about to buy an aftermarket ecu....

thanks.

Yeah do what GTST said ^^

Mine is just the Power FC, not a jetro. Running after market dumps, I think they are Trust, the same as the rest of the exhaust.

With the cams, you will get more out of putting some aftermarket cams in...the adjustable gears just make it easier to tune I think and you can adjust each cams timing separately. Not an expert here though so don't quote me :whistling:

Cheers!

thanks - thats all i needed to know, well the most reputeable tuner here in nz for gtr's runs the hks fcon pro for tuning, as he finds he can do more with them....maybe ill go this path, as alot of others have with no problems....

heres the list i have:

stock internal rb26 motor

bosch 040 fuel pump

550cc nismo injectors

xforce dumps into 3" exhaust

stock cooler

arc panel filter and arc cold air box

Nismo N1's R34 bb turbos

Fcon-Pro

and ill buy adj cam gears greddy or tomei items...

theres my hopeful recipe for safe 300+ awkw...

thanks

Have purchased some Greddy Adjustable Cam gears as well for my tune, and since theres only around 3 or so tuners here in NZ for the Fcon Pro, ive decided on the Power FC...also is ~165 across all 6 cylinders a good compression reading for an r33 gtr motor???

Thanks.

Edited by nsta

Got the motor back, even 165 accross all 6, turbos have N1 labelled on plate, and also have Garrett M24 AR60 written on them, mechanic said they are ball bearing, and i can also hear them winding down just after the motor is turned off..would this mean they are deifinte r34 n1''s?

Im getting a fuel pump fitted - bosh 040, and some injectors aswell (nismo 555cc), i wont need a fuel regulator will i??.

Also deciding whether to go std power fc with hand controller, or d-jetro etc....???

    • I should note too as I have all 4 wheel speed inputs to the emtron I now have the emtron controlling the attessa solenoid for 4wd/traction and launch control strategies.
    • It works quite well with the adjustibility within each of the programs of the turbolamik. Essentially p1 is drive and lockup comes on like a normal driver.  But in program 7 I have customised it to not request the lockup clutch to engage until something like 6500/7 when slip was the lowest.
    • Yep, I like that. The tags are only on the first post of a thread and we don't get huge numbers of new threads. Also, I plan to add some more report types and we could have a member report type like 'review tags' then members could flag if they thought a topic wasn't tagged correctly.  No way man, I dig the input. Thanks!
    • It's a valid thought. There's not exactly that functionality already (when creating a thread) - that's where the OP can use/create any tag they want. We'd have to come up with a way for the user to request their tags get reviewed or something. Otherwise the mods would have to review every new post's tags (for those that have them, anyway). There's kind of that functionality already exists to some extent, post facto of starting the thread, where the OP or any other user could report the post to admins, and request that tags get reviewed. We could do this already, and any user could already have made such a request. To make it a part of the forum proper, it would require an initial and an ongoing education programme, so that people know that it's a thing. OP based tagging/request for review would also require at least some (probably most) of the user base to be told that it's a thing they can do. Both of these things probably wouldn't spread too far and/or get used very much. If it was the standard approach on a lot of different sites, then it might do, because people would be used to it. Prank's approach to this differs from my original thought, by leaning into tagging. Which is fine - it's possibly better than what I originally suggested. In fact, I just went to the R32 GTR wiring diagram thread and added tags, including "Library". That's probably a good way to use tags and the idea of a library. We just have to drag together an (organised!) index of threads or posts that have that tag. I have yet to do any of my own follow up by pursuing worthy threads and posts and reporting/marking/tagging them for the library, such as the @Sydneykid stuff I was talking about, and possibly any amount of @Lithium 's and others' posts. At least if I tag them Library, we'll have a start.   Back to @Wazmond's idea as it relates to @PranK's, we might have some sort of a list of tags that are already used to scrape for this library. I'm not entirely sure how that would be presented or used, particularly if it got long. But it's yet another idea!   cheers
    • Just a thought, but instead of restricting, is it possible to do like an "up for review" kind of thing? Where say someone who's not an admin/mod tags, it would require approval for it to actually tag? User posts with a 'tag' > Admin/Mod Reviews > Approves tag > Tag now exists kinda thing? Just came across this thread so Im not too sure if Im straying off topic or not but forgive me if i am...
