Dump/Front pipe and boost increase?

My car has Trust 3 inch cat back exhaust. And I just install the one piece dump/front pipe. But still with the standard cat...

I read some post about with full exhaust and the boost will increase a bit. But, mine doesn't increase at all... Still sitting at a bit under 0.5bar. Just same as with only the cat back exhaust.

This is without any boost control. Anyone know why? Mine is a R33. Is the boost increase only for R32?

Just get an EBC and all your problem will be solve... with a good ebc you can increase your boost and gain the HP ... even your exhaust system is standard.... what the point you change your exhaust system when u have a boost problem

Remove standard cat and replace with a hi-flow. I think your exhaust is being restricted by the standard cat.

well i recently replaced my cat and installed a front/dump pipe and my car still read 3/4 on the standard boost gauge. which is what it was reading before i replaced these things. the boost appears to be the same.

akeenan, you got a R33 or R32 or R34? Maybe R33 would not increase boost with the exhaust. Or what I need to do is change the cat.

With no boost control, and a 3"cat and cat back, my R33 made 7psi up until about 5000rpm, then went to 9 psi, with front dump pipe it definately spooled earlier, but the actual boost increase was very minor, too hard for me to tell acurately on an autometer boost guage. I think it was a bit higher, but cannot say with certainty.

Get rid of that stock cat, it will be hurting you. If you have a restriction anywhere on the exhaust side, it will rob you of power.
