Hi i know this has probably been covered before but couldnt find it, but i have an r33 S2 with 12psi, fmic, power-fc and dump pipe and cat-back, i was wondering how much power ppl reckon im going to have after my tune at boostworx?

i have previously with 7psi and just catback and fmic before my engine decided to start retarding due to a mechanic advanced my timing belt by like 3teeth on exhaust and 2 on intake luckily the cams were up when pistons were up and engine didnt demolish itself well anyway i was making 161rwkw so what do ppl reckon i will get now?

thanks

yep, 180rwkw(ish) - depending on your fuel pump.

Make sure you run an injector cleaner through pre-tune too, to make sure they are not clogged up.

For the relatively cheap price I would be chucking a Walbro 255/Bosch 040 fuel pump in pre-tune too. You will definitely get more/safer power too.

let us know what you get once you get it tuned. think i've basically got the same mods just waiting for a boost controller and den i'll be jumping on the dyno to tune my power fc, can't wait! power output everyone is saying you'll get sounds good to me

183.2ish..... something around the 180mark anyway

Im pretty sure he will see more then 20rwkw increase with the boost gone up form 7 --> 12psi, added dump pipe and power fc...

Just that AFM might be a restriction, other then that no reasn as to why he wouldnt crack 200.

CORRECT........nothing worse than an unexpected lean surge at high rpm. Water temp gauge doesn't always tell you what's going on in the cylinders.

I will keep all you guys posted at what i make,

not too sure bout pushing the stock turbo to 14psi though? I will put some cleaner through it all and most probably some new oil too thanks for the idea.

power fc at the moment is telling me my injectors are maxing out. will find out am hoping for about 200ish it feels good at the moment to what it was.

I am looking at putting a tomei fuel pump in though possibly then later stage a hks 2535 or 2540 still to decide

Probably top out your stock AFM at around ~190rwkw's.

LOL - im making 250RWKW with the stock AFM, so I doubt 190 will stop him

Then you should replace the fuel pump before you get a tune, a rising rate fuel regulator would also be a good idea for a little extra insurance and wony cost much

yeah dont be scared go 14psi

Steve are you selling turbos on the side now? LOL

14psi and a stock turbo is asking for a rebuild (it could be in 2 years, or it could be next week). There are examples on this forum of 10-12psi and a few track laps killing standard turbos.

yeah good call, i would hate to think someone fried a turbo due to not winding up the boost because THEY think it might be safe for THEIR turbo

mate i hope that with all those mods and 12psi you will be making more then 180rwkw....as i only have a full exhaust, fmic and coilpacks and i am making 180rwkw on 7psi....so with a 5 psi increase i hope to make my motor cross the 200rwkw mark....so hope your is around the 210-220rwkw....good luck with it anyway mate...and u have a shitload more mods then me....good luck

    • Hi everyone! I’m the new owner of a 1996 R33 GTS-T, I’ve purchased this car over from Queensland and brought it to Western Australia and I’ve found that there is a hole cut out in the engine bay for the FMIC that enters into the wheel well (fender liners are in the boot). For anyone that has had to get their car over the PITS here, will this be a major issue?
    • Yeah I've spotted this one too, whenever it's lotto superdraw week and I'm browsing car sales dot com for my new ride They must be dreaming, maybe it's worth 150k for the link to Brock?
    • 100% accurate!  We are a pack of know it alls....  But, I bet people go to you when they have a problem! I've been on a bit of a clean up rampage too over the past month!  I've thrown more shit in the bin over the past 2 weeks than I have in the past 3 years combined! Anyway, it's all good fun being different! My wife sometimes does not agree!
    • ADHD in all form isn't about "can focus, or can't focus" or is hyper active or isn't etc.   It's all a dysregulation. Either time feels to be stationary, or time just vanishes in a split second. We are either under focussed on the task at hand (as we're over focussed on our surroundings) or we have no idea an atomic bomb went off beside us as we're so hyper focussed and locked in on things.   Not to mention the rapid fire thought process. What it takes a "normal" process to think up a solution to a problem, ADHD will be able to give you 5 different ways to solve the problem, and the pros and cons of each. While we can be highly impulsive and lack the ability to "control ourselves" we can also become paralysed with the inability to make a decision for ourselves. While most of us have an OCD like requirement for perfection, we lack the ability often to remain focussed to get things to a perfect state. Those with undiagnosed ADHD as adults, can often find the last part actually stops them ever attempting to do things that they have the ability to do, as the reasoning is often "if I can't do it perfectly, it's not worth doing"   As for projects... Ha ha ha, I still need to take the other half of my wall trim down in the Fiance's office so I can paint it. Need to finish digging and running the back yard drains, my R33, getting the Ninja bike registered (now being sold), the moped project, fixing either of the lawn mowers so they're reliable, along with a myriad of other things.   It's why I've been going through lately and just being brutal and clearing projects off that I won't actually ever complete. IE, moped will go to the tip, or be given away, bike is being sold, Subaru project being sold, some parts for other projects given away. Or I've been making myself focus on one thing at a time, by ticking off the smallest quickest ones first.   There's also a reason by our mid twenties we seem to be "know it alls", as we've all been down some of the weirdest and oddest rabbit holes when you follow the dopamine trail. It's often also why we're more a jack of all trades, but not a master of one.   However, pretty much all of my hobby projects, in one way or another, all come back around to automotive. That's my zen area.
    • Remember reading about this not too long ago. been for sale for a long time  this is like when the wife says you need to sell the car so you put it up for a ridiculous price no one will pay
