What Is This Missing Part?

Gday,

After driving on a really bumpy road the other day I noticed something rattling under the car, then all of a sudden I heard a bit of a bang and scrape and looked in the rear view mirror and saw something bouncing along, turned around but couldnt find it must of fell off the side of the road and into the bushes (Putty road)

Anyway put the car up on the hoist today to have a look and noticed something seems to be missing from the gearbox, im fairly certain something used to be here before in the bit I have circled in red where the 2 bolts are (I could be completely wrong though), does anyone know what goes here? Hopefully its not something too crucial.

nothing. i have nothing bolted up to mine either. my best guess is that it is some sort of mount for the stock exhuast.

I do believe there is supposed to be a bracket that goes from those 2 bolts to 2 bolts in the top of the Xmember..

its a stock bracket mount to hold the cat in place so it doesnt move. not generally used on aftermarket systems

cat bracket, you've got a split boot on the LH side of your steering rack too.

And well spotted mitchy Bridgestone pointed that out to me today too they ordered a new one for me today putting it on tomorrow.

no nothing to worry about but if u have hard suspension your dump pipe bolts might loosen off the turbo after a year or so the bracket is there to support the system in the middle there. but yer i wouldnt worry about it, too much stuffing around to bother with just dont be surprised if your dump pipe becomes loose one day.

My bad.. seems I still have the bracket on my car but nothing attached to it

Supporting the zhaust off it could prevent an after market manifold crack as well. I'd rig something up but thats me.
