Hey,

Any chance that you can organize these for a TT soarer?

Please PM me a price. I would really appreciate it.

Also some pads to go with it....I dont know the difference between the colours, I would just need some decent pads for regular driving, with a few spirited moves. Something with low dust (hate polishing my chromies all the time) lol

I would really appreciate your help.

Thanks mate.

Hi Guys,

I've got all your pm... I'm still overseas at the moment, and problem is I've just got back from 3 days trip to Bali (missus haven't been there) without any internet connection as I didn't bring my laptop with me, and my parents' dialup connection in Jakarta is not fast enough to open up the forum (I got a lot of time out), so I will reply to your requests when I find more reliable ADSL connection by Friday or Saturday in Singapore/Malaysia.

For those who was in the group buy last week if you haven't received your rotors, please pm or let me know here, I will follow it up with RDA again ASAP. For those who wants to get a quote I will do so ASAP, this Friday onwards when I can find some ADSL.

how can i tell the difference between erly and alte model 32 gtr?s

mines a 94 engine and geabox in a 90 shell... i dont know about running gear

think if you got brembo;s then its a late model same as r33 brakes..n .standard GTR brakes should be all the same throughout

Alright guys... finally just checked in into a decent Singapore hotel with high speed wireless... I've got news from RDA they ran out of 908 so they are now stocking up and already processing all the orders in Group Buy 26. You should be receiveing your rotors soon, sorry for any delays...

I will try to respond to new quote requests tonight, or otherwise tomorrow afternoon...

Cheers,

Rianto

True. Blaq.Boi Best to check your car if you have approx 296mm front and 297mm rear then you have the standard brake setup. If you have the bigger 324mm front and 300mm rear with brembo calipers then it means whoever did the conversion also converted the brake.

Let me know which one you have...

  • 2 weeks later...

Should be after 15 Feb, as I'll be travelling soon to some remote areas which may not have internet access on daily basis, so I'll have to put things on hold first.

BTW, pm sent for quote.

Can you please PM me a price on front and rear slotted rotors for a series 2 R33 GTS-T

and also prices on the EBC pads to suit the same car please....daily driven, but doing some track days as well.

Cheers

Guys, back from china trip to in-law's place in malaysia with adsl, so i'll sort all quote request tomorrow as it's been a tiring 10 hr trip and the airline left all our luggages still in china as the plane was overloaded. at least those were all winter clothings, I had my summer gear left here in malaysia.

i'll open the next group buy soon, so it'll be ready to submit after i'm back in melbourne next week.

    • Well, hydraulic lifters will get noisy if they are dirty/fouled in some way, and exactly how that manifests will depend on exactly what schmutz is where. There is a procedure on here somewhere for dismantling and soaking/cleaning them. Replacing them with new is about 50% of the work and about 5% of the money!
    • Thanks for the reply @GTSBoy this is is a hydraulic lifter engine. Yea right i did not realise the lifters were supposed to be compressible while installed. I could push them down but i had to lean almost my while body weight on them.  I have never heard of a lifter/ lifters ticking only at hot idle and getting worse the hotter it gets. I have owned a few jdm cars with noisy lifters. This noise is slightly more subtle, it is more of a sharp gentle metalic tic than the solid and more loud tapping I've heard on lifters. I have used a metal rod, alloy tube, hose and stethoscope and could not find the source of the tick. But it appears to be loudest on the actual engine block behind the exhaust cam gear and next to the oil filter. I had mate (40 year old mechanic) go over it with me and he couldn't find it either..  Could it be a cam seal issue of some sort?  Cheers
    • This seems problematic and unlikely at the same time. Vanilla RB2Xs have hydraulic lifters. They do have "zero" clearance, but only when running with oil pressure inside them. When not running, you should be able to compress them and obtain heaps of clearance. RB26s and Neos have solid lifters. They should have ~0.3mm and ~0.5mm on the inlet and exhaust respectively. If they have zero clearance then bad things are happening. With nothing else being wrong, it would mean that the valves would be held slightly (ever so slightly) open when they are supposed to be closed and it should have all sorts of problems when running, caused by leakage in/out through the valves. Or, zero clearance can indicate severe valve seat recession. None of it is good. Have you used a piece of hose as a stethoscope to try to localise the noise?
    • Sorry for reviving an old post, but I'm having the same hot idle tick issue. Did anyone ever find out what it was?  I have checked/ replaced Injectors Coils checked Lifter clerance (is at zero) Checked Cam lobes Replaced exhaust gasket and studs Would appreciate any advice this is driving me nuts
