Hey guys, just wondering if i can get my gtr injectors flow tested while the plenum is off and the injectors are easy to get at......i have an r33 gtr and the injectors are yellow top (gtr ones 444cc?)

Does the car need to be running for the injectors to be tested?, and how much does this sort of thing cost normally?

Thanks.

P.s: I have uprated turbos on the gtr, and stock ecu, is it at all worthwhile upgrading the injectors while easily accessible anywyas?, my aim is around 300-330awkw max....

Injectors are ordinarily cleaned and flow tested on a bench rig.

There are "mobile mechanics" who can do the job - check Yellow Pages under "Fuel Injection Services" (I think).

If you upgrade the injectors, you will need a re-programmable ECU and a dyno tune.

Thanks, i may hold off on injectors right now, but they will never be able to work out injector duty cycles until the car is running right? how much should something like this roughly cost?p.s would it be dangerous to fit 555cc injector to a gtr without a ecu + tune?

thanks

I think it costs around $30 - $40 per injector.

The only problem with running upgraded injectors will be it will run RICH. That may foul the spark plugs, causing the engine to run even worse.

yes, injectors are not tested on the car. they are tested on an injector testing machine. and yes of course they can figure out duty cycle. duty cycle is an instruction from the ecu to the injector. not the other way around. they just run them at 100% for a set period of time and calculate the CC/min they are flowing at whatever pressure they feed them.

ive had injectors tested twice, both used the same method - they shoot the injectors into measuring tube thingies. They can write down the ml results but its hard to convert to cc/min unless they used the same fuel pressure as the car has standard.

for a gtr make sure they mark the lowest and highest flowing injector so you can put the best one in #6 and the worst in #1
