Yup just mix some oats into your shakes, start of with a bit then gradually put more in as you continue. How many shakes you drinking a day? I suggest you do 3 shakes, 2 at least! Try getting a diet routine happening and eating every 3 or so hours, which will come to about 7 meals a day which includes the 3 shakes. Mix a teaspoon of glutamine into your shakes along with the oats.

Get the BSC Tornado 10. you will love it. Put two scoops of it into 300ml of water and zip it before you workout...i would drink it 20 minutes before you workout though like it says...i done it once like straight before my workout and my stomach wasn't being too friendly haha.

Do you have a during workout drink? If not i suggest going to the local supermarket and getting a tub of powerade powder, they give you a scoop in it, it's like $10 or so. Get one of those 1 litre powerade bottles while your at it haha it will do you good :thumbsup: Fill up the bottle with water, put a scoop of powerade into it, a teaspoon of your BCAA and Glutamine.

Thanx for the tips there, I have never heard of anyone putting oats into protein shakes. I am wondering how that would mix ( if it would mix ) I currently do quite a few shakes a day. More like 5 , If I aint taking shakes I am usually eating a few small cans of tuna and my main meal ( until I am sick of it ) are usually a few pork steaks or Porterhouse steak fillets.So I currently get 40ish grams of Protein every 2.5 hrs. I currently aim for 300-350 grams of protein a day. And believe me its a LOT harder to do than it sounds. As for during workout drink...you got me there, I am only drinking cool water-nothing added. I dont really want to increase sugar levels drastically.

Keep in mind...adding oats to the protein shake is to get a bit more carbs/calories...so if you got a protein such as BSN True Mass i wouldnt chuck in oats hence that protein consisting of alot of fillers already. So judge it by the protein you have...if you want some more carbs/claroires then chuck in some oats.

As for the oats mixing...people tend to use a blender so the oats blend with the dirnk giving you a bit of that grainy taste to the drink. I just use a shaker, oats will sink to the bottom though if you dont twirl your cup before each gulp :thumbsup:

I was at Fitness First in Maroubra but swapped over to Titans in Kensington which recently opened up..they got one at Rockdale aswell. How often you training?

I go 4 days a week , other than taking 3 years off a few years ago to get Married/Have daughter/ recover from shoulder injury - I guess I would have about 15 yrs of Gym experience. Which I guess is pretty long. But I am always learning new things. I am never too stubborn to get new advice

guys, your body only absorbs something like 32g of protein per sitting. so if you're trying to get 40g of protein into a shake/meal then you arent really doing anything except wasting money+product.

also, the reason you put oats/wheat etc into a protein shake is so that your body actually absorbs it protein to begin with. your body needs a complex carb to help it with the absorption of proteins and fibres as well as to burn energy more effectively - throwing some oats into your shake, or even weet bix as i so is 1 way you can get a complex carb into your diet to help you use your protein rich foods up without wasting them.

if you do this often you will feel alot more energetic during the day.

hmm I dont know if that 32 g is entirely accurate. I have heard so many different theories on how many grams the body will absorb. everything from 40 down to 30 . Some tell me the body adapts to increasing workload by absorbing a higher than normal amount. Who knows....Thats why I try and get about 40 grams a serve in. Better to be over than under I feel.But i guess some oats wouldnt go astray, But i would prefer to eat a banana with it if possible

Geez, there seems to be quite a bit of inaccurate information in this thread. Anyone trying to "bulk" up taking all these extra substances really are wasting time, protein is basically all you need, the rest are just a waste of money. Oh and protein has a saturation rate which is undetermined, so 30-40,100,200 per sitting, no real evidence behind it, but on a strict measure of calorie consumption, 300g of protein a day is exceptional within the afternoon/night. Majority of carbs should be consumed in the morning and early afternoon, and then your protein based meals. Ideally you want to deplete your body of glycogen thus eliminating any chance of carbs morphing into fat. This is obviously achieved through heavy weight training, and then you go for your typical 20 minute interval cardio session right after.

And GTR-32U, there is no real proof of body adaptation to increased workload, if anything it can detract from it if you understand how BMR works. Unfortunately the exercise/training industry has such an overflow of information (being a multi-billion dollar industry) it has gotten to the point where every theory has a contradictory theory to detract it.

But what I know and what I do seems to be working very well so I’ll stick it :-)

I have a set of goals that i want to achieve before years end and my rather easy & relaxed form of program is going well, performing as i want to be... I try to get my ass to the gym at least 4 days but usually 5 days a week. Been doing this for 6 years now on/off (going hard last 9 months straight) and through out the years i have gained plenty of experience, knowledge and understand how my body reacts to certain style of workouts. I am in a great form with all my body parts in proportion but will be complete by years end.. maybe

It's basically a sugar, i put in 2 small scoops which is about 50g of carbs. I was always lead to believe protein will repair your muscles and calories make you grow. If protein was all you needed why do body builders eat in excess of 6,000 calories to bulk? Why not just have protein and call it a day?

Does anyone have any information on how much protein synthesis is increased on juice?

Dont listen to anybody when they say they grew muscle when "cutting" impossible without drugs. Even then drugs can only do so much, if u arent eating enough to promote muscle growth it wont happen. Thats why there are drugs preferred for "bulking" and "cutting"

So what's the general concensus on fat blasters/diet pills?

worth it? I've already made changes to my diet to finally get rid of my excess baggage but if they do have an added benefit I'm willing to give them a go

Why bother putting oats? Why not just buy a protein with carbs that's half concentrate and half isolate as a meal replacement? I honestly don't know what people's obsession with oats in shakes is. Also waxy maize is gay, you can't mix it with your shake because it slows down how fast the protein gets into your body, glucose does the same thing anyway even better and at 4x less to buy. Research into it, the internet is chockablock full of information. Take what everyone says with a grain of salt and research yourself.

My uncle has been a bodybuilder for 20 years and my old man used to compete, doesn't mean i take everything they say for gospel... you gotta find out stuff for yourself especially when it comes to supplements. All you NEED is a whey isolate and glucose powder for a PWO. iIf you need creatine make sure it's a monohydrate as everything else is a gimmick, don't trust online reviews of supplements as most of the time it's faked or idiots who think it's doing something when it hasn't just because they have taken it.
