Have you tried more explosive exercises like jump squats, squat presses/snatches etc?

yerrr... i do that stuff during the summer months when its nice to be outside.. and capoeira aswell.. so lots and lots of lunges and jumps... lots more plyometrics and lots less weights.

  • 4 weeks later...

Ok finally back into the gym again now (3 weeks running).

Fk im weak :D

EG: Bi curls I'm only managing 10KG 3 sets x 10 :)

I can't even do 2 dips lol

Gonna be a long 3 months to get back into even basic level of form.

At least I still have reasonable chest strength, although it's only machine at the moment till i get some reasonable base and then move back over to free.

Gday kunce,

My missus said to me the other day that she wants that buff bodied man that she had before marriage back. Seeing as we've been married for 10 years there pretty much no fucking chance Ill be able to find this dood so it looks like its up to me. I dont need to lose much weight nor put too much bulk on (cause im sxc as it is). I am planning on buying a home gym (weider is on sale atm), a rowing machine and a trainer for my pushie. Ill grab a straight bar and some dumbells too.

So,

I need advice on said home gym

Advice on a routine to suit

Thanks in advance bum monkeys.

Soon you'll be benching the 31 for a warmup.

lol RB26's, one arm each :ermm:

It's weird my BI's have lost massive strength, yet my Tri's (pushdowns) im almost doing the entire stack... However much that weighs.

Yet can't do dips as everything else is failing :ninja:

Same for legs, still good strength there interestingly

Yeah I know the feeling, and I only did 3 weeks away from the gym :ermm:

You should buy 2 build RB26's, remove sump, hand through bottom of block, and hold that crank like a dumbbell.

I've never been any good with the biceps :D even after the 3 weeks though I can still do 3x10 reps of dips with +15kg :ninja:

So what are your goals?

It sounds like you want to get a little fitter, and maybe lose some weight. Gaining muscle / losing weight is mostly diet.

Routine wise they're are a lot of things you could do, if your aiming for strength I'd recommend bench, deadlift, squat, military press , dips or similar.

Powerclean's are also great but they are a little technical, you also either need bumper plates or quiet a few mats on the floor to take the impact of the cheaper plates.

That's because you don't really use your biceps that much :ermm:

I found that legs maintain ok, shoulder / upper back strength you tend to lose quite quickly as well :D

lol RB26's, one arm each

use the assisted dip machine.

you're probably not isolating the triceps when you do the dips.

Anyone able to help me source the following in pill forms?

Ephedrine HCL

Caffeine (No DOZ id assume)

Potent Yohimbe

Am basically looking to make my own pre workout/thermo stack seen as hydroxy etc are a joke these days since the magical ingredient was banned. Thought id check with the pros before i went into a chemist or health store asking for these products and they look at me as if im trying to cook some gear lol.

Lol bananas,

so far ive found horny goat weed should substitute for Yohimbe cos it basically just boosts testosterone and energy. Ephedrine not sure as yet, but this is all legal as they can be found in Nutrex Lipo 6 which is on sale on shelves. I just dont want to cough up $70 per month for the stuff.

Just a standard ECY stack really, not a lot wrong with it.

Not really 'cooked' as such, plenty of information on the net for amounts to use etc.

You mean the tri-PD's? I have my shoulders locked and use abs to support me :)

I make sure i use nothing more than isolated tri's for those.

I'll give the dips a crack next week as i upped all the chest/tri & shoulder weights this week and am rather tender today.

Two more sessions @ this rate and i'll have a crack @ 5 unassisted dips on Monday :P

No I mean the dips.

you're prolly using your chest too much and your lower pecs are not strong enough.

If you can almost push down a whole commercial tricep pushdown weight stack then dips should be easy enough.

Been looking for Ephedrine for a while as well as Yohimbe, illegal & super hard to get a hold off

Caffeine is simple.. Most supp stores stock it.. ASN for example.. or you can order of BB.com ... I ordered 4x 100pill (200mg) bottles About $8aus each.. Great stuff to stack against your pre wo supps.. :P

    • That's the thing. Especially at idle, changing the cam angle by that much could be spewing more fuel out the exhaust courtesy of everything happening that bit later. More fuel also means more air (if the fuel didn't burn, then neither did the O2) and so the O2 sensors can start to tell interesting but misleading stories. And the specifics of what is happening could easily be affected by everything else you changed as well. And it could be dynamic, where a few revs more or less could somewhat change how the engine is breathing.
    • Good idea on the temp probe. The mv readings of the O2 sensors are very similar to one another, as is the injector pw. I went through logs in the past to see if there was a discrepancy and there is. Because they alternate up and down as narrowbands do.. they do often 'switch' as to which one is more. They were never 20%+ (more like 1-2%) so it's possible the difference between 20 and 15-17% is a similar discrepancy to 2.0% and 1.7% which I wouldn't have really noticed in the past. We did think about spacing the strut brace. Unfortunately the ~20mm that the GTR brace is lower than the GTT brace is effectively what you need to clear the vents. Moving it up would make it very uncomfortable, but it's plausible that 10mm is a unhappy medium between both hard places... The good news is.. using MR HAMMER it was actually pretty easy to bend back the bent bits to make sure the guard and headlight/new headlight tabs line up right. Yes, we used a R34 GTR guard to make sure the bolt holes all lined up with a known straight guard. As above, you can see the side skirt and the GTR guard are not meant to play together, but everyone seems to think this is a simple fix to the point where nobody who has had these talk to one another mentions how... ...so I'll just assume they know how to fix it when it comes to paint jail time again. Whoever they are. Nobody returns my calls. There's so much changed with regard to the ECU and the car.. that the next step really is to connect the scanner and attempt to drive the thing. It'll be pretty clear pretty fast how in or out everything actually is...
    • That's nasty! I think there is perhaps an inherent problem is using elastomers in such environments. The whole thing can and will get quite hot, and elastomers are not famous for their temperature resistance. On top of that, if the components are cast rubber or urethane and so on, there might be QA/QC problems with bubbles or voids in the material that could critically change their performance. They might just tear apart after being squished (presuming that any elastomers are used in compression rather than tension, I'm thinking that you squeeze one with a void in it and it tears the wall of the void to the outer edge of block, then the next time it extends or otherwise twists, it just gives up). This is all purely hypothetical, but it makes me wonder if the things that they have put into it to make it nice to use/live with are perhaps going to cause occasional failures like this. I wouldn't be getting up in arms over it, unless there are many repeats. I have personally ruined an Xtreme clutch - just an HD thing. I can't remember if it was still behind the 20 or was after the 25 went in. But it inverted some of the retaining spring/clip things around the outside. No-one could explain it. It wasn't thrashed, there wasn't heaps of torque being put through it, and there were no obvious problems other than the above. They were quite concerned by the event so they replaced it even though it was a few years old, which was very nice of them. As far as I am concerned, these things happen with clutches.
    • Any damage to the box/input shaft?
    • Hey there Mate , I just got my local guy to install it Waterhouse Performance, Penrith (specialise Nissan/Datsun and other performance cars) , you can do it yourself if you like , AMS has instructions on their website.  Cheers Pac
