Quick question ladies. I've switches from SAN protein to Dymatize Elite as they were out of stock. I notice that when I have certain sups that I get a sweet taste in my mouth for ages afterwards. I'm talking hours. I'm 99% it's the sweetener (Acesulfame Potassium) in it. Anyone else get this and if so, what products.

Just don't feed any to pets as they'll get various cancers and die horribly, unlike people because it's approved for human consumption, right?

Anyone know of any good MMA type training routines/programs?

After something which has a good mix of weights and cardio, but am too lazy to tailor my own. Have downloaded "The Pit" DVDs featuring Chuck Lidells trainer but they are a bunch of crepa. May as well have downloaded Taebo cos its just as bad!

watch GSP's training regime on YT... if you can make it through half of it your doing bloody well

Birds: that power balance shit is no different to Brock's polarizer for cars... you'd have to be mad or hypnotized to buy into that garbage >_<

Havent read this for 30 pages or so and just saw this.

Any of you who have the power balance bands, the ACCC has now acknowledging this band as nothing but a mere hoax or 'snake oil' and is going down the path of refunds to people who have bought this band.

That's complete crap.

There have been MANY MANY studies done on Acesulfame Potassium as a potential carcinogenic on mice, in quite large doses too, and they have all found it

to be completely safe.

Don't listen to half the crap you hear from hippies on the net that isn't actually backed up by proper scientific studies.

It's true, it's been approved many times over but I can't help but think about the many products that have been approved over the years that turn out to really be not so much safe just profitable.

Like Monsanto says cotton seed oil is safe, almost, but still contains Gossypol. It's also almost impossible to keep track of your intake because it doesn't have to be specifically listed as an ingredient and does not have to be listed as a GM product as it is not under the 'food crop' category. 20L buckets of the stuff get delivered to cafes and restaurants because it's cheap, clear, tasteless and odorless. We've known since the 1920s that Gossypol can do terrible things to you (temporary paralasys, sterility) but where are the warnings?

In before Terry.

Also, you're an idiot. How about I send you all the aspartame I don't want to eat, and you eat it?

Also, after cigarettes, twats like you no longer have the right to express your opinions.

i'm an idiot? That's a bit uncalled for...You don't even know me, so there's no need for name calling

Don't get me started on aspartame? Show me studies proven it's bad for you? I'm not talking independant studies sponsored by sugar cane farmers....give me something on pubmed for eg, if you know what that is.

What about cigarettes?

THey were proven to be linked with cancer in the early 1900's, yet tobacco companies created 'research companies' which lied to everyone about their studies, trying to extinguish the 'myth' of ciggies and cancer. This still happens today, with a lot of

big industries.

However we have come a long way, and there is alot of studies being conducted out there that if you only went out of your way a little and spent some time reading you could learn alot ;)

Not sure if the wasteland is the right spot or not for this.

So who here trains at the gym??? Or any other sport and uses a pre workout detonator/supplement?

I am currently using hemo rage black ultra concentrate. I find it is brillant, it gives a massive boost while training I find I can push out a extra rep or 2 each set. The downside to this stuff is it doesn't where off after training. I am still buzzing at 9-10 oclock at night when I have taken it at 3 in the arvo. I take 1 full scope in 250ml of cold water approx 1 hour before training.

Anyone whois interested here is there web page.

www.redbak.net

I am interested to hear other peoples experences with different products.

Most of the time you will find those preworkout supplements will increase blood pressure and generally if you are going to do max weights on low reps (6-8) you may find you feel sick, dizzy or end up passing out...

I used to have red bull before workouts, started vomiting halfway through workouts, as soon as I stopped it I went back to normal... IMO all preworkout stuff is rubbish and if anything puts you more at risk when training.

If you want that extra rep or 2 or some extra weight added on, have creatine post workout- it actually works - as long as you have about 2L of water a day....

    • They see me rollin' they hatin'....... Took me most of the day to make the necessary mods to the mounts to make them fit the car.  Fortunately I was able to just use the mounts that came with the rotisserie. The rear ones are really secure, the front I feel i might reinforce a bit more as it doesn't seem like enough attachment to the vehicle. I'm sure it's fine but better to be safe than (extremely...) sorry.  I drilled and tapped thread into additional M12 holes to each car mount where it attaches to the rotisserie as an extra fail-safe. Without them the side to side movement is just restricted by the allen head pinch bolts, nothing actually goes though the beam. Does now! I still need to adjust the rotisserie to get the car centred in terms of centre of gravity. If it's too high or too low relative to the rotational centre line of the car, it will be like a turtle and roll onto its back or as it currently sits, I dont think I'd be able to rotate it as it sits as it needs to lift the whole car up as it rotates. Ain't happening... I'm going to be nervous as hell the first time I go to spin it on its side...
