New pb today on barbell bench

Managed to knock out 100x10, possibly due to the fact I didn't have a spotter and the though of being crushed by a 100kg bar helped me get the last rep :)

The mc chicken burger helped as well I think haha

Also weighed in at my heaviest at 91.3kg, have been struggling to hit 91 previously...

Not bad, not bad. Was that straight off the bat or after a few sets? My PB is also 10 @ 100kg after a few sets of slightly lower weights. Trying to get back up to it after an elbow injury caused a drop in strength and then a nasty plateau (very depressing when your bench strength goes DOWNHILL). Currently doing 95kg and hope to be back by the end of the year!

Nice to see someone else measuring a PB with multiple reps :)

Cheers mate,

It was reasonably fresh

60x12 then straight to 100 where I went 10 reps then 7 reps with the next set

I know what u mean... Week after week of lifting the same weight,

Then u get that one week where u get that extra rep or 2 and it's worth it. Next goal is 110x10 times

What do weigh in at birds?

I'm currently 83/84kg @ 6'3, was about 81/82kg when I hit that PB. Really need to get back into leg exercise, as I figure that is where my weight deficit is (also have a fairly low BF%).

Those weeks where you push out an extra couple of reps...simply awesome, cause you know it's time to step up the weight and start over again. Good thing about measuring PB in a set of 10...you know you're strong when you're doing a lot of people's 1RM!

Thats Good power to weight, especially since your not stocky

I'm tryin to stack on the weight so I have a little bit of extra weight being 6.1

Can still run 2.4km in 9 min with no running program though ;)

Your right about being able to do most people's 1RM 10 times, but at the end of the day u can be happy with the achievements but i always have the desire to be stronger and push further ahead of everyone else, being competitive is wat keeps me goin I think.

There's always someone stronger to try and catch

Yer good power to weight I reckon, but I have no legs...if I did I'd probably be up around 90kg. Only legs I do ATM is running...really gotta get back into leg lifts. Still, I was 63kg at the same height (my frame is quite thin) so I'm pretty happy with how far I've come.

Tried stacking on the kilos...got to 90 but most of the gain was fat. Loved the weight, missed the sixer. Competition is great motivation; wherever you can find motivation is good, even anger.

2.4km in 9 minutes is bloody impressive for that weight and no training. Do you play a sport?

Yea if u thicken up the legs u can really put on alot of weight, they are the largest muscle after all haha

To come from 66kg to 84is alot of work and dedication, it's taken me 4 years to get from 69 to 92

I to have a rather skinny frame, but it does have it's advantages because the muscle i do have makes me look bigger then I really am.

Don't play sport but being in the army we do a fair bit of physical training, though I haven't been running as much as u might think.... When I was around the 85kg mark I was doin it in 8:40.

If it wasn't for feild exercise I may be at that 100kg mark.... NO EXCUSES! though ;)

63 to 84 :P

But I've been in the gym for about 8 years, so I should have something to show for it. Could be bigger if my goals were power lifts...I prefer the athletic body type though. Very happy with what I've got and if I can maintain it for years I'll continue to be happy.

See I reckon my thin frame makes me look smaller than I am. When I'm wearing a suit...I've got good posture, but I look very average in size lol.

8:40 is blistering for 2.4km and that weight man...my best over a very hilly 3km is 11:59. Never done it on flat ground before...time to get stuck into it!

Gotta remember if I had to do those extra 600 meters u could probably add 2 min to that time.

With a shirt on your not goin to look very big with a small frame, but if u have good muscle definition it makes u look bigger I reckon

yeah when I was 10kg heavier people would comment on my size when I was wearing clothes... but with my shirt off I just looked fat, little definition so you couldn't see the muscle very well... a T Shirt also hides your gut so people just see your shoulder/trap/arm size

now I look smaller in clothes but with my shirt off I look MUCH better... even some vascularity coming through now and you can actually see the muscles working... its much more rewarding overall even though I have no desire to do BB or even train like one

I've always looked stupid in a suit though... I have very thick neck and high traps so its hard to get them off the rack to fit and I end up looking like a bouncer... lucky I hardly ever have to wear one

PB flat bench = 150kgs X 4 last set BOOM!!! Thanks Jack3d!!! :whistling:

Nice bench!

Speaking of which I recently read of 2 power-lifters been banned for 2 years for drug use for the use of....jack3d ! It doesn't do that much so unsure why the penalty was so harsh, but just thought you might find it interesting...

Some (apparently a lot) of places ban 1 3 dimethylamylamine, which Jack3d etc contain.

Wow really! I didnt know that! I definately recomend it though! I dont understand why it would be banned, its not like it gives you muscles with every scoop. lol

Just really gets you in the zone and focused......more mental then anything! Though half way through the work out when you start feeling a bit drained it puts you right back in the game. I could see why you could ban it for use during a comp but not whilst trainning for it!

But on that note music helps to pump me up for a heavy set, probly not that long till they start banning that too!

Yea I take it, the brand is international protein and they call it extreme carbs... Seems to be working, makes u feel really full as well so I can't eat dinner for an hour or two after taking it.

Pretty much replenishes glycogen levels and helps with recovery... Just full of complex carbs which is what u want straight after training, absorbs really quick too

    • Haha luckily we don't have emissions, inspections, or any laws against power adders here. They only thing they somewhat keep an eye out for are ridiculously loud exhausts.
    • Just wanted to pop in an update on my setup. The CD swap has been great, I love the mazworks housing for the overall simplicity. I ended up sealing my trans tunnel with a thin sheet of aluminum reused some of the holes on the trans tunnel, and laid some window sealing EPS foam around the edges. Works great, really quieted things down and sealed up the car.  As for the power comment. Right now I am also running about 650whp. with the way the bell housing is attached to the face of the transmission I have zero doubts it would be fine, mainly because the input shaft and main shaft bearings are seated into the bell housing adapter. This means the load is NOT on the bolts to maintain the power, rather into he casing of the bell housing; Yes the bolts are doing some work there, but with both shafts locked in zero worries.  End of the day, the Mazworks solution is the easiest and safest. no need to take your trans to a shop to get milled perfectly, it fits with minimal clearancing, and you can use all your existing clutch and flywheel.  Driving wise the CD has been great compared to the big box, I'll probably swap my final drive at some point. The serial 9 shifter is gooooood, my only qualm is how tight it is, it takes a fair bit to get use to, 5th and 6th are a bit eh/hard to find at times, but maybe I need re-adjusting, and I think my clutch master is very tired and needs a rebuild.
    • If you are keen, have a look at my build thread. Car is for sale for the right money or straight swap for a F80 M3 LCI.
    • Welcome mate.  No point in over thinking it, buying any one of those cars you mentioned is not a smart or logical choice with the availability of many "better" (re price to performance) cars available to you.  The heart wants what the heart wants, buy whatever it leads you too.
    • Hey everyone! Im so grateful to be apart of this community and ill do my best to be apart of this. Firstly, i'm not disclosing my real name due to in real life circumstances surrounding my privacy and public image (sorry lol) Secondly, The only thing personal I am willing to share is that I'm from Sydney and a descendant of one of Sydneys largest mortgage firms. I got gifted my first ever car, a 2022 Porsche Cayenne and I love it to death. Ive been driving it for about 5 or 6 months now and honestly Im so grateful for my parents for gifting me this vehicle. However recently I've been working my ass off to afford my second car (which I need help deciding soooooo community help me out please?). Once decided, im planning to try modify it myself. Recent I've been thinking about getting a Skyline, particularly a 25GT or GT-V, yes I know overrated as hell, but I'm also considering a Chaser which I recently came to love. However my dream is to one day own a 180SX (So hard to find clean versions and im not really into importing).  Lastly before I send this off, I want to apologize if I sound tacky or pretentious. I try not to and want to genuinely learn from everyone and anyone. (Im no expert in this area) Thanks for reading!
