but your not doing it any good by coming across arrogant and dismissive of everyone who doesn't subscribe to the same ideals

I apologies to all, I am working on my e-tone. So used to just being direct with what I think it does come across in an unpolite manner.

Both of those guys are standing next 16yo girls...I didn't comment on size because I have no metrics or real comparisons. Why don't you compare their arm and chest sizes to some bodybuilders, think you'll find it's not that special. Physiques like that are a dime a dozen in America. To me it seems like you are more impressed by the vascularity, waxed chest and tan....

Both girls were over 18 when the photo was taken some years ago now. He was ~100kg, no more than 5 ft 10. Sorry I didn't ask him for his chest/arm measurements.

His physique is far more impressive than yours.

Your problem is that you're so caught up in your own training methods that you literally can't accept that there's more than one way to train.

It's obvious to everyone else in here that he has a great physique, but the PTC clan couldnt bring themselves to admit that someone who uses isolation training has achieved great results

Dezz, what drugs are you smoking? I never made any comparrison about my physique to his. I never said he did not have a great physique.

I said his diet must be very clean to get that lean, never made mention of size until you brought it up. Read what I am actually writing not what you think I am writing.

My guess is diuretics or his diet must be pretty farkin clean to get bodyfat down that low. But alas the internet Dezz could post anything and without a shred of proof it isn't worth jack..

PTC is a gym / franchise of gyms. I wouldn't say that PTC as such believe isolation training is useless, where is that stated?

The only person who can really speak on behalf of PTC is the owner, Markos.

Ghosty is not the owner.

Ghosty - let it go.

If you got this involved in every discussion you'd have a stroke.

Birds is Birds.

just let it go.

you don't have to agree with him or what he does/says.

If he trains for a look then who cares.

If you train to be strong then who cares.

You coming in to here to have this discussion is like a skyline fanboi going over to rex net to discuss why RBs are better than EJs.

It will change nothing and will just be a waste of keystrokes.

People who want to train for strength will seek the powers of google and find the likes of Starr or Rippetoe etc.

People who want to train for bodybuilding will do the same and find appropriate material.

People who want to go to the gym to look lean and AFL player like will do whatever it is that they need to do to look that way.

LET IT GO...

Lifting on Monday night?

I'm going to test my lifts for the CAPO deadlift comp.

Should be there at about 7-7:30

This is Jack, 20yo and less than 18 months TOTAL training time.

170kg bench press

245kg squat

250kg deadlift

When he started training he wieghed 110kg, he now weighs 150kg. body BUILDING.

His progress and training is documented in his training log - http://prorawpowerlifting.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=training&action=display&thread=20

He's built more muscle in the space of 18months than this whole forum put together, wasn't from doing cable flys....

I just find it really interesting that so many people on here have no interest in getting stronger along the road to improving their physique, it's like saying you're going to clean up the oil mess from leaking gaskets in your car but not going to change them while you're at it.

Most of you think I only lift to get strong, couldn't be further from the truth. I want to get bigger and have an awesome physique. To do this it requires lots of eating, sleeping, and time spent lifting weights. What do you think stimulates more growth, 20kg dumbbell curls or squatting 300 pounds for reps?

Edited by GHOSTrun

Keep in mind your definition of "awesome physique" is very different to everyone else. Personally, while your mate Jack is a f**king monster and has done well - I don't ever want to look like that. There isn't much definition, and to be honest he looks like he's just a giant.

spot on.

Jack might be strong, but he looks like shit. IMO.

No but I can tell from the training logs. Muscle lifts weight, not much weight being lifted on here, sorry.

ahh, but an overgrown lump of meat doesn't attract the ladies. Herein is where our problem lies.

And if jack decides to cut down one day? Gets down to single digit bodyfat? That'll leave him anywhere from 110-120kg at less than 10% bodyfat, pretty farken huge.

You guys need to realise how you look is largely defined by what you eat.

Dave Tate - Elite powerlifter, carrying some fat...

Decided to lean down for shits and giggles, look at all the muscle revealed underneath the fat:

(his pecs look funny because they've been torn a number of times, it's what can happen when you bench 700lbs+)

Another example, Lee priest fat (off season), and in season (cut) comparison

    • Reading your posts Josh, sometimes I feel like I've gone in a time machine back to the 90's when everyone was doe-eyed and figuring things out for the first time.  I've lost track of how many single turbo GTR's I've seen on track that haven't burnt down lol. Everything has been figured out a long time ago. These things are at the point now where its essentially turn-key to go single turbo.
    • Among other things yes. Making sure to either use an oil pressure regulator or the right restrictor size for your oil pump/range of oil viscosities you intend to run, making sure you plumb the lines correctly, turbo should be placed such that it siphons properly even when the water pump isn't turning so you don't boil coolant in the turbo after shutdown, oil return should be low resistance and also preferably picking the one that is most likely to return to the pickup as opposed to some other irrelevant part of the pan. It's far from impossible to figure this out but I have seen people really, really struggle and if that's the case it's easier to just take the path of least resistance. To me, bolt-on twin turbos are a fixed cost whereas single turbo is almost unbounded.
    • Latest round of updates on the car. I purchased and installed a SWS clutch slipper to help with 60ft times and got some second-hand good condition 275/40R17 Hoosier DR2 radials. Test and tune in November showed the tyres were an upgrade over my over 15 year old mickey Thompson's and I got a 1.8 second 60ft and pb et of 11.71 but even then, that run wasn't great due to rain and driver error (the event got called off 10 minutes later fast forward to the weekend just gone 25th of Jan and there was finally a break in the weather to let racing happen. The first run the track was slippery and only managed a 12.1@129 Second run the track was better and got a new pb et and mph: 11.54@131   Lith and I then worked out that I installed the previously mentioned clutch slipper incorrectly and its never been working, and I had just been dumping the clutch the entire time, we also noticed it was on street boost and not race boost. So I lined up for a third run with the car turned up in the first two gears, but the passengers side axle objected to clutch dumps and left the chat which stopped my weekend.   so there will be another attempt in the future once I replace the tyres as they rubbed and are stuffed now. but a low 11 should be on the cards.
    • Ceramic coating and heat shielding, you mean?
    • Turbos don't require pulling the motor apart so that's "easier". I would recommend the Nismo R3 turbos instead if you want to do stock twin turbo. It doesn't make as much power as the 2530s but it's only like ~50 whp off the mark and should have better response (ball bearing CHRA, slightly smaller turbo). A local that went with a Garrett G30 and 6boost manifold recently nearly burned his car to the ground after the hood insulator started melting and and burning so if you go single turbo I recommend doing a lot of research and validation work to make sure you don't do the same.
