I use Maca with the green Natures own powder stuff.

I like to think its a healthy mid morning drink.

Its easy to use as the dry powders fit in a small Tupperware container so I can just throw it in my work or gym bag and make it up when I want.

The taste is one that you get use to, the green stuff is nice but the maca's nutty flavour is fairly strong and almost overpowers the flavour.

All up it works out to be about $1 per serve.

Do I get results, not sure but I'm feeling healthy, don't need to strangle to many people and take a dump like clock work.

Mix the maca with ovaltine or milo with a bit of skim milk and it tastes awesome

As I'm on leave and its time to mix it up a bit, I've again gone with a Jim Wendler style of program, I've also had a deload on all of the big 4 exercises.

I've gone with the 8 6 3 range with a few accessories and some high rep fluff.

I'm currently almost finished week 2 (6 reps) and it is going well, squats tomorrow may be a issue as I pulled a groin muscle being a idiot with the kids (trying to be the karate kid on the bag after a few Xmas beers).

Multivitamin

Krill oil with glucosamine

ZMA

Pre-workout: Coffee with creatine

During: BCAA with some Blue PowerAde powder stuff

Post: Protein and oats

Critique at will.

Had a dexa scan today for fun, currently at 15.1% body fat. Doctor was saying something about old scale and new scale. something about different standards in readings today, but said i was 10-11% on the old scale.

Plans for the next month or so is to do a reverse diet to build up my metabolic rate. Lean gains through the year.

Hopefully put on some more muscle mass and a lower body fat percentage next year

I want to try one of those scans.

In the meantime I'll just be here having my third week off.

I had one light session attempt last week but pulled up sore so have just been enjoying the break.

Itching to get back.

I got a mate to do calipers on me yesterday and said 8% bodyfat but i hate them they are never right i thought i looked about 10-12% but im always my hardest critic.

Blah_Blah if you got a dexa they should give you your daily resting calorie intake. If you know and are good with macros you should be able to do a lean bulk with out putting on fat if your training and cardio and diet is on point. If not see a nutritionist and you will be able to reach your goals easy.

8% is pretty darn ripped.

He showed me a pic of someone on 10% on his machine, and that was INBA competition Mr Physique lean. Ill try find a picture of the exact person that used the machine but he was sorta like this:

Yeah I track my macro targets at the moment, so diet is pretty much on point

he is probably a bit leaner than 8% mates that compete have to be 6% or less to be worthy stepping on stage. That lad looks about 6% if you ask me could be wrong. He has a bit of gyno to by the looks of those nipples lol

I have all visible abs and veins even legs calves and veins running up my lower stomach. But not going to get a dexa for a few weeks as i want to get a bit leaner.

I'd be 15% max right now. Got sloppeh hahaha

Holy shit 40% is filth. Doesn't even look like a human torso any more. Featureless blob.

What stats are you?

Maybe we should have an sau 2015 improvement competition :)

So we all know that being fat is bad for your health and you will end up dead sooner, when does being to skinny fall into this group?

My non educated Googling puts it at being under 8% as it starts to screw with your hormones and the ability to heal.

Male ideal healthy: 9-19%

Female ideal healthy: 21-33%

Me, I'm around 20% and happy with it, and I like all foods to much to care.

I am eating a chicken, egg and salad roll right now, washed down with a XXXX Summer, yum.

Being competition lean is definitely not good for you long term. I think being somewhere between 10-20% is not too bad year round, but it depends on what you are wanting. If your big you are still gonna look pretty jacked at 15% or so, just minimal abs

When I was down around 8% body fat, and I'm just guessing based on vascularity and definition according to the pictorial, I was seriously struggling for energy at the gym. I was getting through the sessions, but it was taxing as all shit and I had nowhere near the workout intensity that I had before I started eating "clean" (read: lean meats and vegetables, no to very little junk food).

Also caught a lot more colds - that could just be coincidence, but since I'm now around 11-12%, I feel a whole lot healthier in general. Would probably feel even better with more...humans are meant to have fat, just not too much or too little.

So I don't think it's sustainable in the long term. Pro bodybuilders are seriously fatigued come comp day - add dehydration to the lean body sapped of energy and it's a wonder more don't just faint under the spot lights. But then, don't some professional basketball players hover around 6-7% or something ridiculous for a year round season? Guessing it makes a difference how much muscle mass you have too, as I can only imagine lots of muscle would starve your body of energy?
