Well Max's is well known brand, and just because its cheap doesn't mean its poor quality. They sell large packets and often don't use plastic tubs, using a bag instead. It's fine if you've got a container at home you can transfer it into, it just means cheaper prices.

You should give the bulk nutrients stuff a whirl.

cheaper and mixes better, you'll be surprised how much better haha, i was shocked.

I would but this stuff honestly mixes fine. Regular shaker, shake for 5-10seconds and its like a chocolate milkshake. I've got a mate who always drinks it when he comes over but refuses to buy it himself because it tastes too good. Mind you I'm taking a weight gainer, not a pure protein. It contains no suger, but they typically do taste better.

I like Max's, there a good brand but I think they are pretty expensive. There WPI is really good if you can justify spending the extra coin, I've got a tub at home (got it for free for being a gold member :D). But I generally opt for Optimum Nutrition.

Righto thought id give raw eggs a go

been eating 4-6 of them a day, 2 raw in the morning 2 raw before bed and 2 cooked after training

the ones i have raw i mix in with casine protein, light lactose free milk

pretty much using it as a fuel before training and as a filler while i sleep.. no eggs dont contain the most protein but they are a good fuel and have good fats

one thing i have noticied is that im no longer hungry in the morning when i wake up, which has to be a good thing!

and yes i am aware of the arguments of cooked vs uncooked eggs, white vs yokes etc as well as the very off chance of salminala

anyone given raw eggs a go? what did you think of it?

Put everything aside and what's the point? Why not cook them?

If you're that strapped for time that you can't spare 3 minutes to cook some eggs, then cook a shit load all at once and eat them as you want, they won't taste any worse reheated than they would raw...

They dont taste like anything and it's easy as hell just to throw them in a shake...

Re heating them in a micro wave nukes them so no won't be doing that

Anyway how they taste or making time to cook them is not what I'm interested in...

I wanna know if people have seen results with upping their egg intake

apparently raw eggs are a no-no. cook them. something to do with if they're not cooked they don't provide the enzyme to digest them properly or something which equates to not getting the most protein out of them? somebody should research and provide a proper answer though :P

I would cook it just for lowering the chance of salmonella poisoning. Oh...and you absorb a *lot* more protein when its cooked :)

I cook eggs every morning... whole process takes me about 5min... I wouldn't eat them raw, taste awesome cooked with a bit of s&p

noticed a big change when I changed from so called 'healthy' breaky cereals and oats to eggs, beans, avo, chicken etc... no comparison and now I'm addicted to big hot breakfasts

my wife boils heaps of eggs every week and I grab one if I want a snack... banana, some nuts or a boiled egg keeps me from gnawing my arm off with hunger

I normally eat 2 boiled eggs mid morning, cant stomach a big breaky so I just have a shake of protein concentrate (slow release) and sometimes ad creatine or carboplex multidexrtren for added carbs and 2-3 weetbix.

You guys should try Reflex, hands down the best supplement brand out there, I've tried just about all the brands and all the stuff sold at GNC or wherever really is complete rubbish, they all contain fillers and flour. Theres no testing of all the stuff they sell, really any numpty who wants to can make there own supplements and sell them, atleast Reflex is ISO tested and stuff like that.

Be carefull what pre-workouts you guys are taking, stuff like no explode are high in caffine and other rubbish. Dont listen to all the crap most of the guys tell you, its all marketing. Your body will get used to the caffine and after a few weeks the affects wont be as good.

If anyone is wanting to loose fat while gaining please be aware the time and frequency of your meals as it makes a huge difference. Im skinny so I've never had to worry to much but I have noticed a difference in body fat by eating 4-5 small meals a day and keeping your high carb and high glycemic foods to the morning and no later then mid afternoon. You can still eat before bed just dont eat anything that will increase your insulin. High insulin levels while doing nothing ie sitting down watching tv will make you store fat. Same goes for big meals, if you eat big meals all the time your body gets used to having excess energy and stores it as fat, if you eat more frequently your body will use most if not all the food consumed as energy and you won't store fat, you can even stay hungry for a little, say 15-30 mins before eating because your body wont eat muscle it will eat fat first, your body will only start eating muscle in extreme cases like not eating for 5-6 hours.

ive ripped a couple of posts from a body building thread that everyone might find interesting

first post:

Hunger doesn't mean muscle loss. In fact, most of the time it doesn't even mean you actually need to eat. Limbic Hunger is mental, and it causes you to be hungry around the times you normally eat due to the release of grehlin, which increases hunger and rises when you're in anticipation of a meal. Somatic Hunger is actual physical hunger that occurs when your stomach has been empty for a while. Grehlin can be released then as well.

Leptin increases hunger when body fat decreases, but it doesn't just increase when you 'don't cheat', and a cheat won't 'reset' leptin levels.

A lot of things cause hunger, so keep that in mind. Morbidly obese people don't stop getting hungry, despite the fact that they have plenty of body fat to use for energy.

Therefore, you can be hungry for many hours before actually losing any muscle. Fast for over a day, and then you might lose some muscle.

second post

Here's the thing- you pretty much ARE always undergoing catabolism. But guess what? You're also performing anabolism all the time too! Catabolism = breaking down. Anabolism = building up. These words aren't just associated with muscle (except on bb.com). Your body is constantly breaking down dietary nutrients and synthesizing protein, glucose, and triglycerides your body can actually use. You're also constantly tearing down and repairing muscle tissues. Your bodily functions never stop, and catabolism and anabolism follow a natural cycle for repair and growth. You catabolize fat for energy LONG before you catabolize muscle. Think in terms of days, not hours.

    • Being the top Google search result for R34 wheel-related inquiries, lemme throw down my experience. I calculated that 100mm from hub face to wheel face is about the perfect fitment for my ENR34 sedan.  I've been running 18x8.5s, ET35, with a 1" spacer. So, 8.5in to mm = 216mm. 216/2 = 108mm. 108-35 = 73mm. 73+ 25 (1" to mm) = 98mm.  If you wanna get close to this on dif widths, here are the offsets you'll want: 9" - ET around 15mm 9.5" - ET around 20mm 10" - you're crazy, but ET around 30mm All these should fit perfectly on a non-widebody, non-GTR Skyline. Note that it's probably the absolute max, and you're probably better off running a couple degrees of camber in this config, but it looks great, super flush.
    • Oh yeah, always always always turn over an engine by hand first.
    • So by that logic, an insanely expensive GTR for $200k+ is quite cheap, at 12% of Sydney's median house price compared to over 50% when a GTR was new...
    • Apologies... thought i had outlined it... Cheers for the response, I'll get a nipple sorted out for this.
    • lol thanks for the pics but some arrows might have helped for context. If you mean the bit I've badly traced in red, that is a PITA vacuum signal for the power steering pump, only R34 GTT was "lucky" enough to get it. Yes you will need a nipple of the same size somewhere in the intake between the air filter and the throttle or the power steering idle up will not work correctly
