I'd be interested to see what you guys think of my current routine/ how I'm doing.

In terms of the bigger lifts I'm a 65kg guy and I'm doing:

55kg bench

75kg deadlifts

60kg squats (these are dumbbell squats, I don't have a squat rack :( )

Sort your routines into days of push and pull exercises IMO. It's okay to have one exercise in there, to break things up, but I think you have too much crossover.

Wasn't a big fan of their chocolate, but as I've said a hundred times, it's not something I drink for pleasure so as long as it's not rancid tasting I'll get it down and get over it..

Their chocolate definitely isn't as sweet as something like dymatize ISO 100 though, that shit tastes like drinking cake mix

I actually don't mind the chocolate because it's less sweet.

I'm not a huge fan of " overtly sweet" tasting stuff so the stawberry is probably the limit for me and choco isn't too bad at all.

Either way its not a$$ as you said :D

Nope, and my point of that comment was only to say that given the exercise I do I should be able to take on a fair bit more protein without any ill effects, such as smelling like an ogre when I exercise.

lol not normally dude, and whilst it could be just age, my diet hasn't changed enough in any area to make me think it's something like that.

Read the link and what I'm saying will make sense, found a heap of other people commenting about the same thing too.

Anyway, as I said, can just smash up some more carbs and if it's what was mentioned in the link it should help, if not, maybe it's the supplement but after having a count of things I eat, it shouldn't be too much protein, if anything I should be eating more.

*facepalm* you guys are really missing the point.

I did not nor have I ever had my sweat smell like it has in the last 6 weeks. I have always used the same few shirts, for years, and a simple wash is all that's been required to have them smelling fresh again.

Now I can wash them on hot and they can still have a tinge of odour. I do not have any BO during the day, it is only when I sweat for extended periods and only in the last 6 weeks.

Of course I used deoderant, I work in an office and I'm not a f**king animal :D

None of you read the link huh...

It also sounds like I might be alone on this one, at least on here.

I feel like I'm repeating myself for the 100th time but forget the arm stuff for the time being... your bicep and chest heavy in your routine... you have zero vertical pulling exercises and only one horizontal pulling exercise... ditch the bicep curls and do some pull ups or lat pull downs... your back has many different muscle groups and needs to be hit MORE than the front... you also need to include some overhead (vertical) pressing to go with your bench press (horizontal pushing)

at your weight and strength level I'd be doing full body workouts 3 x a week... start with different compound exercise every session... one day start with deadlifts, next day start with bench press, the next day squats... then alternate pushing/pulling exercises throughout the session so the small muscles in your arms don't fatigue before your back/chest/shoulders

spilt routines for people that barely lift their bodyweight is rubbish... no offence but you asked

Try shaving under your arms...seriously...it does reduce BO. And yeah, new shirts + maybe a different deoderant? Rexona never lets me down. Re-apply just before the gym and you should be right. What you eat can certainly make a difference to the smell of bodily fluids. What have you introduced in the last 6 weeks that it happened? The protein?

There is a guy at my gym who smells so f**king bad, it's not even a BO smell, I think he must have a medical condition because you can't exercise within 5 metres of him and not smell the guy. Shit chokes me up bad. There was a similar guy at the gym my dad and I used to frequent when I was younger. You want to say something, but feel bad if it is a medical condition.

Fair enough.. Probably should have mentioned I do this all from home, I'm only using a bench press and free weights so there's nowhere to do lat pull downs etc. Probably should get one of those door mounted things..

ah yes that does make things more difficult... a chin up bar or dip station would be a good addition

I've never shaved under my arms and I'm not about to start now. I have tried using some non gym shirts this week, it has made no difference. The smell is not in the shirt (as in left over), the smell is my sweat and is only prevalent after extended periods of sweating, that isn't going to change by wearing a different shirt. I also use Rexona 24hr Deoderant fyi.

I am almost 100% sure it's dietary, unless I have some weird gland/hormone problem that has only just started as I have never in my life had my sweat smell like it does in recent times.

In the last 6 weeks I have started taking supps again, some old WPI I had and now the Dymatize, but the issue pre-dates the Dymatize easily. So it's either too much protein, unlikely given I ran some numbers last night and it looks like I'm only just hitting what I should be getting without exercise anyway. The other change is as mentioned, moving from higher reps/lower weight 40min workout to higher weight lower reps more intense 60min sessions.

I didn't realise you guys hated BB.com but the link basically states that if you don't have enough carbs for fuel during high output times, your body will use amino acids instead, leaving behind nitrogen = stronger smell in urine and sweat. Answer eat more carbs which I'll be trying.

My interest was more so if anyone else had had this sort of notable change and managed to reduce it successfully with carbs/diet change, not shaving armpits, new shirts, different deoderant.

Had a good lol at that youtube clip :D

For the BB haters, another link with similar take on the topic.

    • It makes you wonder, all these people starting to make a billet replacement head, I wonder if any have thought about trying to adapt tech from newer engines into them. You're already at the full design stage to make a billet head... Why not really spice it up and had some more modern tech into the mix too...
    • Connect all the plumbing up properly. The actual worst part about having the turbo unable to actually build boost, is you can and likely would over soon the turbo if you drove the car (free rev while stationary isnt likely to manage it).   If you do have an air leak as Duncan suggested, you'll have a bad time as the AFM will be saying different to reality.   As you have had the engine out, I'd go over all electrical connections again. If you have a consult cable, plug it in, and see what the ECU thinks is going on. Did you touch the timing belt? If so, double check your timing on the gears is correct AND put a timing light on it while it's idling and see what ignition setting you have. Is the AFM you've installed the one that was in the car previously? You said you replaced seals, what seals exactly? What have you had apart?   From memory when I had my RB25DET with factory throttle, there was two plugs the TPS plug on the loom could go to. One would leave the car running like shit, the other made it work, I think one plug on the TPS area was for something else (an option). It's too many years since I saw that part of the loom to remember properly though.   Is the car idling smooth (as smooth as an RB can)? Does it smell fuelled up?   I have a feeling either timing in timing belt is off, or a sensor isn't right.
    • Theres still skid pan and motokhana days up in QLD at least that are $100 or less. The ones that are ran as "driver training" less so, they're expensive, but just normal skid pan days like SAU ran are still low cost. And thats one of the places I learned to be a lariken, purely by asking for passenger rides, and how people were doing crazy things. Reese gave me plenty of pointers back in the day for skid pan! And yes Duncan, I will never forget your pointers for track work. Especially after Neil got out saying "I am NEVER getting in the car with him again!" 😛
    • 49719 is the cooler loop. Right at the front, LHS of that diagram. Return line from rack (LP side) goes to cooler loop on RHS front of car, then back under engine and returns to bottom of tank. 49717M is feed from tank to pump. HP line out of pump is thick rubber, followed by the hard line that runs down to crossmember and runs in parallel (but opposite flow direction) to the LP return line. Nothing goes anywhere near the firewall or interior of car. The closest they get to that is the connections on the rack.
    • Thanks, plan is to drain all fluid tomorrow and do smoke test to find out the leak.   Appreciate your help and want to understand how the system work. So cooling is achieved by the long loop not any rad? The diagram seems to suggest it connects to somewhere inside the cabin and I thought that is a cooler inside firewall. If you look at the diagram it seems to show it connects to something inside firewall. I tried chasing it but not easy unless I take loads off   i am confident pump is good as fluid goes in and it gets soft( steering) but as soon as I turn engine off , loads of bubble come to surface and overflow. When engine is on , fluid level is below minimum but when off it shoots off and thinking it is sucking air in. I suspect aluminium pipe may have a crack line or whole   smoke test with no fluid should be a good start and if needed will remove the pump   In addition, the one going under the engine bay is high pressure line and one directly connecting from pump to resorvoir is return/ low pressure?   finally I searched and suggestion is to use dexron 2 but that is discontinued so bought dexron 3 as all research suggest it is compatible and shouldn’t cause any issues/ blow seals. I bought two liter of dexron 3 motul atf
