Bench was going great tonight; best weights I've pressed in weeks and all nice and low to the chest. Last set was 2 reps of 107.5kg. No shoulder pains. Then did close grip lat pulldown. Still all good. Then warm up on 60kg incline press and...f**k...my shoulder cracked the shits. Felt like I dislocated it or something. Couldn't even finish the set. Now can't move arm in certain ways (specifically above my neck and across my body) without it hurting.

Gonna book for scans tomorrow; looks like I'm deadlifting and squatting indefinitely.

That sucks.

Is it a pinching type of pain? Does it 'pop' when you move it high or across?

Yes it's pinching and if I can stand the pain of moving my arm high it does pop eventually. Can't even take my farkin T shirts off, it's ridiculous. Still can't believe a 60kg incline press did this...

Doc pressed on a few places and seems to think inflammation of the supraspinatus/bursa; prescribed anti-inflams. I reckon it's a tear/rupture though, so I insisted on an ultrasound referral. See what the imaging reveals I guess.

Sucks :(

Hopefully ultrasound will give you more information and you can get it sorted.

but your life isn't that bad

should of insisted on an MRI referral.

Ultra sound will only show youve got an injury/fluid.

MRI will actually show length, extent of injury etc.

MRI will also set him back a shitload of money. Prior to healthcare reimbursements (which won't be much anyway), the MRI my mate got on his knee not too long ago here in ACT cost somewhere just over $500.

$500 is not a shitload of money when it comes to your health.

Most people wouldn't think twice about spending $500 on their car.....your body is with you for the rest of your life

Oh I'm not saying it isn't worth it; merely saying that perhaps jumping straight to an MRI isn't necessarily the way to do it. I'd go with the ultrasound first up as it's probably close enough to free for there to be no real reason NOT to bother, and then depending on the results of the ultrasound you could push for the MRI.

With the shoulder it could be anything but it sounds similar to my injury which is bicep tendinitis - basically the tendon that runs from the bicep to the shoulder is enflamed and pinches and pops as it passes through the hole(?) causing the pain.

Physio, Voltaren, stretching and no chest work for 4-6 weeks cured it for me but then it came back again. And no overhead presses of any sort!

Good luck with whatever it is :)

    • Sure, but why assume that will be the case forever? And why assume you'll be able to do an oil change to swap back to a stock drain bolt before that happens? And does it even matter when I change the oil at fairly short intervals? Life can be funny sometimes and unexpected things can happen. Like breaking a collarbone so you can't do any work on your car for a few months but the oil change is due so you have to take it to somewhere and hope they don't do something stupid like stacking the new drain plug washer on top of the old one.
    • Do u know how to identify the rods are rb25 or neo ones? Can u look into the pics and tell me is they de or de neo ones. Its confusing becoz my motor has de neo head but block is 25de 75t, so really confusing me about rods, crank.
    • Are you talking about the oil squirters? There is only one place for them to go. Yes, you have to drill the holes. Yes you have to obtain the correct oil squirters (I presume there is some sort of aftermarket option available, because original turbo ones are going to be a diminishing resource).
    • I thought you didn't let mechanics, especially those with no idea, work on your car any more? Wouldn't that mean it won't be an issue in your case?
    • Is it possible to get them dilled and taped if its not there. Same for oil feed and turbo drain, is it easy to get them taped or i should get the supply from somewhere else?
