if you have 500ml of milk and the oats, you'll be getting around 20-30g of protein.

given he's watching his caloric intake, I'm not sure milk would work the best for him. Perhaps a skim milk with the lowest sugar content he can find will work better.

yep steering clear of too much milk due to calories.

Birds, the reason I obsess over diet is my obsessive personality that it's the single most important factor when it comes to body composition. Will try the sugar free maple syrup though.

Also why I'm not consuming much milk. Current rate of weight loss seems to be good (up to 1kg a week), with what I'm doing, but I am looking forward to when I can relax it a bit.

yet again..9+ years of working out what works for you... same as you more or less said in the lifting thread could apply, not optimal, but its what you do.

lol I don't care how experienced I am, I never faced the difficult choice of what brand honey to put on my cereal because of the sugar content. You make it sound like I used to do this shit and over time developed the ability not to.

Unless they are diabetic, I don't believe old mates to be anywhere near where they should be before they need to start considering these very arbitrary things, or at least putting as much effort into them as they do. There's more work to be done in the gym than with supplements and macros.

As I reiterate about being a type 1 diabetic, my natural instinct keeps me away from fast acting sugars. I avoid simple sugars (sucrose, glucose etc). Generally when you see the term "sugar" on a label it usually means it has sucrose aka table sugar. People confuse themselves with carbs and sugars lol. As much as I would love honey on my oats (just have water only), I really cannot be f**ked jabbing myself all the time...

Perhaps if I was normal then I would probably be a fat f**k haha.

I've adapted to consuming artificial sweeteners and even then I will avoid your sugar alcohols which are common replacements in protein bars/sugar free chocolate.

Savoury all the way!!

Birds given that it's commonly accepted like I said that diet is the #1 factor in body composition (because not all of us are blessed with starting from being a skeleton/skinnyfat/ottermode), I don't know why you're acting like we shouldn't be obsessing to some degree over it. I've noticed big changes from altering what and how much I'm eating from week to week. Even simple things like cutting down on simple carbs and not eating take away at all for lunch during the week.

Nope, I'm saying you achieved a system that works for you over a long period of time and essentially critisize the people who are using a system that works for them more efficiently. Why f*ck around when you can get there quicker.

You keep on saying there is more work to be done in the gym, it's known fact diet is far more important than anything done in the gym. You know what you need to do to gain or lose weight, so do they, just a different way of keeping track.

You guys.....

Boz - you can get flavour free powder. Instead of worrying about the make up of a tablespoon on honey, just enjoy it, then do an extra set of squats.

Leesh - eat meat. And do more squats.

Birds - shutup and deadlift 200 already

Vspec - sorry to hear about your aids/diabetes. Have you tried to do squats to counteract the aids?

Dan - protein powder is fine for long term use. Stop reading women weekly for your scare monger info.

Wasn't reading anything in particular TTT, was just thinking about when mixing up a drink the other night so then jumped online and had a scout around. As was mentioned, you will always find support for any opinion on the web so it's interesting to see what other things sometimes.

As I sit here drinking another...

If poo floats that means its less dense than the water it's displacing. Fats/oils float on water so maybe that'd mean there's fat in it or something...

I'd also suggest if it floats it might have something to do with the amount and type of fibre you're consuming - ie there's plenty of gas trapped within the pewp from fermenting fibre :P

Dear #@Birds

Please allow me to provide you another example of why I need to count calories/macros so I know when to stop eating. The below macros are f**ked up, but it's too late to fix that up now LOL. Not eating anything for the rest of the day, save for a WPI shake post workout. The below was consumed prior to 10:30am lol.

How bout you stop being a girl and let me design a meal / workout plan for you and you stick to it.

Nek minut 10% bodyfat

Why would you waste that precious time Birds, surely you should be lifting?

lol this!! The irony of what you said Birds, is that not only would you be "wasting time" coming up with a diet plan when you should be spending that time in the gym, but it'd actually be significantly more efficient if I did this on my calorie counter since it will actually be accurate....oh wait, that's exactly what I do and subsequently cop shit from you :P hahaha

No, because my meal and gym plan for you would take 5 minutes to produce and last you years, as opposed to the 10 minutes you spend debating what brand of honey you use on your cereal, before switching to a diet that doesn't allow honey, before switching to one where you bulimia the honey.

Oh wait you're still hovering around 12% bodyfat and I'm 10% while I chomp on my Magnum ice creams and cheese and bacon balls...keep up the fad dieting and data entry boys :P

Oh Birds you make me laugh so much.

Add that 5mins to the time you already spent trying to debate the fact with a person who simply doesn't care what you think, time you wasted that you could have been using to lift.

And honestly, given you mentioned your stats of being 6'3 and 80kg, and having seen a pic of Troy, he looks a whole lot better than you do anyway.

Which is a point in itself, goals are completely subjective, aesthetics included, so while you might think you look good at 10% bf others would not.

In the end, worry about what you want to achieve and how to get it rather than trying to convince others that your way is the right way for them, especially given that different things work for different people different ways.

I'll be in the corner squatting poorly if you need me.

    • Because that’s not what any of them are building these heads or blocks for. It’s to hold over over 1000hp at the wheels without breaking and none of that stuff is required to make power

    • It makes you wonder, all these people starting to make a billet replacement head, I wonder if any have thought about trying to adapt tech from newer engines into them. You're already at the full design stage to make a billet head... Why not really spice it up and had some more modern tech into the mix too...
    • Connect all the plumbing up properly. The actual worst part about having the turbo unable to actually build boost, is you can and likely would over soon the turbo if you drove the car (free rev while stationary isnt likely to manage it).   If you do have an air leak as Duncan suggested, you'll have a bad time as the AFM will be saying different to reality.   As you have had the engine out, I'd go over all electrical connections again. If you have a consult cable, plug it in, and see what the ECU thinks is going on. Did you touch the timing belt? If so, double check your timing on the gears is correct AND put a timing light on it while it's idling and see what ignition setting you have. Is the AFM you've installed the one that was in the car previously? You said you replaced seals, what seals exactly? What have you had apart?   From memory when I had my RB25DET with factory throttle, there was two plugs the TPS plug on the loom could go to. One would leave the car running like shit, the other made it work, I think one plug on the TPS area was for something else (an option). It's too many years since I saw that part of the loom to remember properly though.   Is the car idling smooth (as smooth as an RB can)? Does it smell fuelled up?   I have a feeling either timing in timing belt is off, or a sensor isn't right.
    • Theres still skid pan and motokhana days up in QLD at least that are $100 or less. The ones that are ran as "driver training" less so, they're expensive, but just normal skid pan days like SAU ran are still low cost. And thats one of the places I learned to be a lariken, purely by asking for passenger rides, and how people were doing crazy things. Reese gave me plenty of pointers back in the day for skid pan! And yes Duncan, I will never forget your pointers for track work. Especially after Neil got out saying "I am NEVER getting in the car with him again!" 😛
