Has anyone ever added maltodextrin to whey protein as a cheap alternative for a high carb, high protein shake?

Just bought 5kg of each and this could possibly be the most cost effective supp combo ever.

30g protein and 50g carbs = one scoop of each powder, post workout shake

Pretty common for guys who make their own supps I thought.

When I was researching making my own it came up a lot.

In the end I remember that I am an absolute rank amateur and basic protein was enough for me :)

I use dextrose with my shake after training at night.

And it's the first hit of carbs I get for the day..

followed by carb meal, followed by icecream then fruit..

ride that high... till the mad crash which falls in line with when I go to bed.

As a former ecto, because it can be bloody hard to gain with a fast metabolism.

I spent far more time working on my eating than I did lifting.

Really it wasn't until I got a bit older that I could stop working so hard to gain and maintain.

Yeah its fine

honestly don't know why people need shit like massgainers, but that's probably due to me being a fatass

Its like me saying why do people go on such strict diets? just eat a little less.

yeah but there's such a plethora of calorie dense food that it makes me wonder how someone needs a 2000 calorie shake to go with it lol.

I've tried the strict diet thing, felt like shit and lifts all stalled or went backwards. Thing is though, my reading suggests that for fat people you also have the double whammy of leptin etc levels being out, therefore necessitating more of a calorie restriction than someone who was less fat to start with.

body somatypes are broscience btw.

I simply use it as a term people are familiar with Boz, I'm well aware the "types" were dispelled.

My point being, some people do genuinely find it harder to gain. I was one of them. I eat substantially less now and maintain a desired weight with far greater ease. So age/metabolism definitely play a part.

That's not to say that age and metabolism have an unbreakable link (you can improve or damage your metabolism regardless of age to an extent), just that a lot of guys find it hard to gain when they are younger, not all but many.

Even the 'biggest' mass gainer i know of isnt even 1000 calories, thats over 150g carbs and 80g protein per serve.

I use mass gainers when im cutting some times, time restrictions mean i use supplementation...

so your leptin levels are out but you dont think naturally occuring base body shapes exist?

    • I would call it the "manifold coolant outlet" or something like that.  If you know the dimensions you can just get a bit of mild steel (or stainless) pipe that is the correct size, bead roll a hose retaining lip into the end of it and bash it in! • Help! Can anyone tell me what this part is called? Mines a rusted mess as you can see in attached photo and I'm struggling to find a replacement for it anywhere because I simply don't know what to search up. It's on my intake manifold and I believe the top radiator hose attaches to it. If anyone also knows where to buy one from that information would be greatly appreciated aswell 😊
