what do you mean by hot?

As in crusing on freeway at 100km/h for a length of time and then accelerating etc? or as soon as the engine is warmed up to normal temperatures?

If the misfiring happens after 3000rpm~ its most likely the coilpacks.

In my case, my misfiring was happening because of the ignition module overheating. (the black box sitting ontop of engine near the back)

Swap the ignition module with a friend and see if you still get mis-firing.

If you believe its the coilpacks, take off the coilpack cover off the engine and go for a drive at night.

If you can see sparks from the coilpacks they're most likely need replacing.
