Yup, well finally, here is my little R34 SKYLINE, Manual GT-T Sedan.. Pearl White and it is simply a pleasure to drive, since July I've done close to 15,000km in it and I'm still not bored.

Considering I used to drive an N/A auto VL Berlina, this is an entire world away from that... These pics are after I gave my car its first cut-back polish and wax.. Again, a big thats to Paul, Alistair and all of Autoworx who at the time help me with the car, big thanks to you guys.. I'm really a happy chappy!

Just a question dudes and dudettes...

Does anyone think that my wheels/rims don't fill the guards enough??

A few of my mates have said this and I kinda see their point.. Are they right? or am I delusional??

Bigger rims? Get some aftermarket springs/shocks for a lower ride height??

I can report this though, I don't know if many Skyline drivers take their rides on gravel roads, I have to as I live in the country, but I can tell you all.. The Skyline is equally at home on gravel as it is on bitumen, many of the locals that drive typically 'country' cars, such as commodores, falcons, magnas, statesmans, avalons, aurions and the likes.. None of them, and I will say, NONE of them handle, road hold and are as stable as the Skyline... Really me and my old man couldn't believe it, but it is true, and I have no idea how they (Nissan) managed it, but this thing is just simply awesome on gravel..

thats a hell clean 34 mate, good work on gettin it hehe, as 4 the wheels they do sit in a bit, wat u can do is either get a new set with lower offset, or just whack sum bolt on spacers 4 those rims, if u want 2 lower it id recommend gettin sum coilovers.

Oh, I thought it was an N/A GT-4...

Yeah, that is one thing that really suprised me too, going from a VL though, what do you expect... The VL used to handle like a shopping trolley on cocaine...

hey mate.

what size rims are u running.

like size and offset.

i have a r34 4Door also. except mine is a GTS model.

i have just put on some axis Hiro 19x9.5 +25 all round on mine. And i must say they certainly fill the gaurds ha ha

a big car needs big tough jap looking rims.

Any pics mate? U would have had to roll ur guards??

yer at the moment is running stock height so there mega clearance.

But i will get my guards rolled and pumped so that i can lower it heaps.

the wheels sit outside my guard alittle bit. but once i pump out the guards and lower it the wheels will also camber in abit which will help out a bit.

The wheels look phat as tho.

here is a pic with my car riding at full height. Needs about -5inch suspension.

Hey mate, nice car, ive got a 34 4-door as well. Ive got the R34 GTR rims on mine with lowered springs, fill out the guards pretty nice. Cant go wrong with a decent set of 18s. If i was you id get some work XT7s for it in bronze. Very nice car though mate, nice and clean, good to see more of these puppies getting around. Here's a pic of mine:

    • This is a real nostalgia trip for me, I mean SK Bilsteins? I ran those lol Good times.  Good work Duncan, it's not an easy job in many respects. I'm sure the family appreciates it.
    • It's not a dumb question. I was circling this idea myself. User error is always possible!
    • Nope. The seal is in the drive. A new cable would just fill up and continue to convey oil to the speedo head. To check if this is what is happening, take the cluster out, dismantle the speedo and have a look. You probably don't even have to dismantle it. If there is oil coming up the cable, the drive into the speedo will be grossly greasy. I had to manually (and delicately) clean the gunk out of my speedo.
    • Thanks for the quick response mate, and I agree Nismo 555s, Z32 and high flow 2871 in OP6 housing (run by PowerFC) would all be "period correct" and should be a simple, reliable and reasonably quick track car.
    • It is normal for a speedo to read 0-10% high (unfortunately), intended by manufacturers and ADRs (although not in this case) to ensure your speedo does not read low if your tyres are worn. Speaking of which, what size tyres do you have on the rear, and what does they tyre placard say you should have? you can use this https://tiresize.com/calculator/ to determine what % difference that is causing Personally, when I buy tyres for a car I buy a size that will bring the speedo back to being more accurate; it if it reads 5% high I buy tyres that are 5% larger diameter. If you had an electronic speed sender like R33 onwards, the other option is to add a speedo adjuster but that won't work in R32. Finally, you  might be able to find a different sized gear for the speedo sender but that will be limited to what already exists (and I don't know what sizes do)
