Wiring???? I've got red and black coming from the dizzy, obviously they go to the neg/pos of the coil. There's an ignition wire going to the coil, that remains. Do you still use the ballist resistor and what other wires should be on the coil. I've read threads but I'm still a bit in the dark . Gee a picture would be nice.Do I need a different coil?

Thanks Ricky.

i`m dont understand fully your question. Can you shot a picture of your dizzy? Your ignition system is vacuum advance or it`s uses a hall effect sensor? if in your dizzy not used contackt breaker, then it using a hall effect sensor with power transistor.

FORGOT TO MENTION MY c210 NOW HAS A 260Z MOTOR AND CAME WITH ELECTRONIC DIZZY, SO TRYING TO WIRE UP TO EXISTING LOOM/ WIRING

I have the same set up as you... more or less. I have an L26 with a electronic distributor. The 260z used a points distributor, so I'd say your electronic distributor has been poached from a 280zx like mine. So... you need to ditch your C210 coil and get one that suits. You wont need the ballast resistor any more. I couldn't figure up how to wire mine correctly for sure and finally gave up and had an auto electrician do it. Now all the wiring is hidden so a pic wont be much use to you.

The ballast resistor is a requirement of the coil, not the distributor. Basically, the coil gets a full charge of 12V at startup, but then the electrics switch over to the ballast resistor to deliver less (8?) volts to the coil while running.

Can you give a scheme? how ballast resistor work? i`m have a burnout power transistor on my l20et.

The coil was made by a crew down here called ICE (google them, its an interesting website). They do performance coils and leads mostly. Apparently I went a bit overkill though, the stock 280zx coil would more than suffice.

So what wires have you got on your coil. Is it 2 wires from the dizzy .1 fom the ignition and 1 for the tach? a photo of this set would be great if you could manage it Cheers Ricky
