has anyone hear changed coilpacks for a r34? the reason im asking is because its sooooooo impossible why did they make it so hard to get to. if it was turbo than its way easier to do but being n/a there is way to many things blocking it including the main manifold that sits on the top. im going insane im hating this car so much right now.

why is my non turbo skyline so impossible ive seen how to do the turbo ones and you just have to remove the intake pipe but with mine i have everything hanging over the black cover. it has the whole throttle body and the manifold and if i remove that then id have to get a new gasket because im pretty sure its glued.

it's all quite straight forward. i doubt there'd be much difference to the turbo setup anyway.

people do it all the time to do sparkies. just take a photo before hand if your overly paranoid.

i personally wouldn't leave the coil pack cover off. wouldn't want water getting in there.

Coming from a turbo 33 to a non turbo 34 the turbo 33 was much easier to get to the coilpacks and plugs over the 34. There is all these little hoses running everywhere where as on the turbo it was only a matter of taking off the intake pipe to toget to the valley cover. Im guessing its all the low emissions stuff that comes with the neo motor?

hey been a long time since i been on here but you need to take off the intake pipe, just disconnect from the throttel body and AFM n then take off the coil back cover and well the rest should be easy from here, also disconnect it from the loom near the firewall.

hope this helps, hame

Mate I did it once and ill never do it again took too damn long. If I have any plug or coilpack related problem these days I take it to a mechanic.

Im probably slow compared to other people that do theres but I couldnt justify the time doing it again.

sorry eug i forgot to answer your question. and its yes he removed the whole lot, but he had to remove alot of pipes and stuff that was in the way. the gasket was fine he just sealed it up and put it back on.
