Is there any companies like Jspec and the like who will help me import from NZ?

if not, can any tell me approx costs to get a car over here, and other costs involved? im assuming it would be similar to importing from japland?

please, if there is a topic covering this, direct me to it, as a search gave me nothing.

cheers

Matt

lol J-Spec actually started out in NZ, so if you want something from there, it should be easy to organise.

all the cars in NZ came from other countries, so usually its cheaper to import directly from that country... so not really viable unless its a personal import or an ultra rare collectable. The rules of import are the same regardless of country of origin.

whatever you can import from japan, you can import from new zealand, using the sme methods. the laws don't care where the car comes from.

but yes, what that someone told you is true.

Importing from NZ is easy and we are happy to help but as funkymonkey said the laws are exactly the same as importing from any other country and cars are usualyl cheaper in the country of origin, so if the car you are lookin at is Japanese then we can probably get one from Japan cheaper not to mention having a better selection there too.

Anyway, please let me know what you were looking for specifically and I will see what we can do for you - it's best to email me directly at [email protected] for a faster reply as the SAU forum often doesn't email me when we get replies or PM's for some reason.

craig,

I can do the paperwork on this end of it. the NZ side is where I come unstuck. car is a 87 subaru .
