Firstly if anyone hears of a 2nd hand acer laptop being sold, let me know immediately.

Secondly, a brief story. I was at a friends place in the forum in the city, I walked out to my car at midnight (an hour ago) to find the rear passenger window smashed and my laptop stolen.

I was obviously pretty upsett but felt my insurance (NRMA) would come to the rescue.... nope! Sorry, we don't cover other items in the car.

Now the fact that my $2,500 laptop was stolen and apparently uninsured is upsetting, what really hurts is that being a real estate agent my whole data base is on there which translates to potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost business over the years ahead.

Fortunately, I have my phone synced to my database so I will maintain most of the basic details, allowing me to rebuild it to what it used to be, over time.

No real point to this post other than I can't sleep and this helps get it off my chest.

But that's life I suppose and these things happen, not such a huge deal in the big scheme of things.

But please, keep an eye out for any dodgy suspects trying to sell a used acer laptop, I'd like to have a brief "chat" with them.

Yes been through that exact same problem (except the car was stolen as well).

I now have shannons preium home insurance that covers up to 20% of household contents in the car. Otherwise you can get unspecific and specific insurance for items in the car (personnel effects) from most big insurers.

Did you look in the bushes around the area? We had a laptop stolen from a car in Dickson and found it the next morning looking around the bushes nearby. I suspect they were kids who didn't want to carry it at the time or didn't know how to explain to mum and dad.

That's terrible. There seems to ba a spate of this kind of sh!t at the moment. Our bikes (pushies) got stolen some time on thursday morning from our locked storage cage in our 'secure' carpark. You could imagine my delight to find an empty cage when i was on my way to work, but on the bright side they didn't touch either of our cars (yet).
