ok ill start with what i have found when test fitting some different rims... this is my opinion only, dont blame me if im wrong :D

on the front i could fit a 9.5' rim +40 (it was sticking in the gaurd alot and im sure u could go a 9.5" or +30). The +40 was really close to the suspension on the inside of the rim but choosing the +30 offset or whatever will be much better on both accounts

9.5" + 40 on the rear was touching the coilover only just and i could probably get a +35 on the rear if u make it run heaps of negative camber (2 camber kits), tyre wear wont be your friend though :whistling:

on the rear i would personally go 9" wide only and a +30 offset (same as r34 gtr rims) and that is perfect with some camber to tuck it under the gaurds, on the front u can run 9" + 20 or +25 easy with abit of camber.

r34 gtr rims fit great on the rear, u just need a 10mm spacer or more on the fronts and it works out good (r34 gtr rims are 9' x +30)

these fitments mentioned are with plenty of rear camber to tuck them under the gaurds so dont expect stock camber with these rear offsets to clear the rear gaurds.

hope its some sort of help, but please try a test fit if u can to see for sure.

p.s. To answer the question i think u have no hope of fitting a 9.5' +22 under the rear gaurds without them sticking out about 13-15mm at least and thats with alot of negative camber

You'll fit those sizes easily on the front and rears. You will not only have more inner clearance than me but your wheels will also not stick out as much.

The fronts will look very sunken though (in my opinion)

I run 18x9.5 +1 fronts and 18x10 +20 rears. Front camber is 1 degree, rear is 1.5 degree. Rear guards have a lip (just the inside lip bend up). For these camber levels you probably wont need after market adjustment as when the car is lowered to suit the wheels, they will naturally camber in. Camber kits are often installed to remove camber.

hey Alex love the wheels mate, i think u have pushed the limit of offset on the rear though haha.

how far do u reckon the rim is sticking out from the gaurd on the rears?

and how far do the fronts stick out with the 25mm spacer on?

i would love some aggresive offsets but dont want them sticking out the gaurds more than 5mm max.

The fronts, maybe 15mm

The rears, 10mm or so.

It really depends on how you measure it too. I mean, my lip sits on my guard when I have enough weight in the back, but then, if you measure "sticking out" from the top of the wheel then it would be sticking out 0mm, but thats with about 2 degrees negative camber.

The best bet for anyone is test fit before you buy, if the wheels hard tyres. If they don't, find something similar and see if you like the fitments.

I am more of the attitude "get the wheels fit, make the car fit them second". However, my guards are full stock, only a lipping of the rears was needed.

i did go test fit those rims and they came out looking pretty much the same as urs, looks mad, but just not the look im after... thanks for every1's imput, realy helped and should keep helping every1

    • Thanks again, really helpful chap from alpha omega wanted to speak to me, little concerned if this is meant to he aero alloy/ airospace quality and car sitting on drive has caused this.  Airplane are subject to much more changing temp and conditions than road salts! My caliper, many other components much older have surface rust but never eating part of the metal   Had I not seen it , could have been a disaster! specifically on rear part of bracket coming off like biscuit will update on what they say, helpful people so far

    • The MX5 has had some annoying rattles in both front doors over bumps So I installed fancy pants door bushings, which stopped all of the rattles with the windows up, but........with the windows down there was still rattles, so after some googling,  and a chat with MX5 Mania, I got some new door to glass weather seals, all the rattles, windows up, or down, are gone now Shout out to MX5 Mania, the weather seals were on sale, and when I head to Dural to pick the up they even fitted them for me for free I did see a "really" nice Blue NA sitting out front   and this Black NC PRHT that looked like it has sat in the sun for its whole life and never had a wash, the clear coat was non-existent, an it looked horrible, really horrible, but, it had a nice turbo kit with over 200kw, the thing went like a cut snake, bagging the rears through the gears and dosing like a champ 😍 But, as I've always stated, I am keeping my NC na, I'm happy with the current power the car makes In other news: MX5 Mania do a drive in drive out turbo kit, the only minor additional part recommended for boosting my car, as it sits now, is a oil cooler, and that bonnet vents are definitely required for track use Aftermarket version look a bit to "racecar" spec I wonder how Focus RS bonnet vents would look?????
    • Paint is only structural when applied to the outside of Chinese and Indian cars. Otherwise it should never be present between mechanical joints that were intended to be metal to metal. Pain slips, slides, cracks, compresses, and add thickness that wasn't intended to be there. It comes firmly under the category of "just no".
